The SINGER® S14-78 serger saves time by sewing a seam and seam finish at the same time, while trimming away the excess seam allowance. You can use 2 threads, 3 threads or 4 threads for a variety of stitch combinations. Easily create a 2-thread rolled edge on a silky scarf or a 4-thread overlock seam on t-shirt sleeves.
Adjust the Differential Feed with the turn of a dial. You can sew fabrics without puckering, or create a gathered look on stretch or knit fabrics! The built-in Free Arm makes it possible to sew around small sleeves and cuffs - great for children's clothing and more. And with a sewing speed of 1200 stitches per minute, your projects will be finished in no time at all!

Love this S14-78. It was a little off-putting not having a manual in the box, but after sorting the web, I was able to find a pdf copy of the manual in English that I could download to my desktop. It's a great machine. The Youtube video demos are always best for me anyway. It didn't come with a dust cover but that's okay.Overall, I absolutely love it. I am confident with the price, quality, and build that this machine will serve me well.Pros:1. The color coding2. on-deck guides3. easy-breezy threading of the lower looperCons:1. No manual, must download from online (can be tricky to find...absolutely do not pay for it)2. No dust cover3. No info on how to locate/buy additional or replacement feet

This is my first serger and I love it! I have been sewing for years and wanted something that worked better for knits. This machine is clean and modern looking. As other reviews mentioned, it is a little hard to thread but I found a YouTube video that made it very simple. It is fast and quiet -- great machine!

Encantada con esta maquina, la compre para uso ocasional mi hobby es coser y no querÃa algo tan costoso, hasta ahora cumple para lo que necesito , las puntadas son muy bonitas, demore en colocar una reseña ya que el uso que le doy no es constante, pero estoy muy contenta con ella.Es cierto que necesitas un video instructivo y es cierto lo consigues en youtube. Recomiendo asegurarse que las agujas queden bien puestas tienes que empujarla hacia arriba muy bien .

Cutting to the chase: RecommendI’ve wanted a serger for a while. My grandmother used Singer machines so I was somewhat familiar. I bought this serger because it was the most similar model to my Singer Serger I purchased, and have used for the last 10 years. When I unboxed the new serger, I immediately noticed it was MUCH lighter weight than my previous model. I should have returned it at that point. My mistake.The overall design of this serger causes constant thread tension issues. Achieving a consistent, even serge stitch is impossible.The worst part is how IMPOSSIBLE it is to thread. I’m very experienced with threading sergers. This one is a nightmare. The diagram on the machine is not easy to figure out, so I went to Singer online, watched videos, etc. the bottom line is this: the threading design, especially the sight lines to the threading mechanism is faulty. Combine that with erratic thread tension, and you will spend 75% of your sewing time trying to thread this machine.Having been a Singer owner for many years, I am beyond disappointed with the poor quality of this machine.After several months of trying to make it work, I have taken it out of my sewing room.
