For the price, you can't beat this thing. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy usage but, for the part time welder it's awesome.

these lincoln AC welders are decades proven as one of the most reliable welders around but they were alternating current. the choice to use full wave rectifier to convert AC to DC made welding a much smoother experience. with the rectifier, DCEP allows for smoother arc control, deeper penetration into the base metal when using the 7018 rods, and ability to use the 4043 aluminum arc rods! the duty cycle of the usa made transformer based welders are seriously under rated. these lincoln machines just keep burning stick after stick, decade after decade... very pleased with this rectifier to now burn rods on DC and choose the polarity as needed.in my uploaded picture i mounted the rectifier to a 3/16" aluminum plate with thermal paste, and sandwiched it to the front side of the arc welder again with thermal paste. the decision to mount it to the front is because it makes it easy to change the polarity to DCEN as needed for thin gauge steel. some ask if a cover is needed on the rectifier.. no it is not needed.

While this will not get you perfect AC to DC for welding it gets me very close. This saved me a lot of money by not having to by a new welder.

Got it when i was told i would. i used it to switch Lincoln ac welder to a DC welder. works nicely.

Added it to a Lincoln AC225 welder for DC works great. Used a piece of aluminium angle and a computer heatsink with thermal paste for cooling.
