This is a nice laptop shelf, I use it on my Odyssy portable rack case with slant top rack. It holds my laptop nicely above my mixer and works well for my mobile DJ setup. The metal is heavy duty with nice tough black finish, the hinges are smooth and tight and the carpet on the laptop pad is nice. I recommend this laptop shelf.Here's a tip, if you want to be able to have the shelf up in a forward position instead of the back position, get two of those little screw on metal window/sliding glass door track security clips for like $2 each and you can clip them to the front of the bracket to block the hinges and keep the shelf up in a forward position.

Nice metal frame, sturdy unit, and don't let the 2U space requirement make you worry too much. I was able to install this unit directly overlaying my 2U width CD controller with the same screws going through both this shelf and the CD unit into the same matching holes in the rack. Once the unit is pivoted up and out into the "use" position, it's slick and lets me see my CD unit displays. With the all-metal construction I was able to add a separate magnetic light onto the bottom of the laptop shelf to illuminate my top-rack mixer. I only had to buy my own hook & loop tape for my laptop to get it to attach to the carpeted shelf, but that wasn't a big deal at all. Great product at a great price.

I purchased the shelf to use on a SKB DJ Station106 case. Installation was very easy and the fit is just right. One thing I didn't account for is when the shelf is in its full extended position and laptop open, it is very high. I'm tall so not a problem for me and I use an adjustable table so I can see over just fine. However, if you're under 6' and you are behind your rig you'll be hidden from your guests. A good DJ should never be hidden from the guests. Overall good build quality and very sturdy. The shelf definitely serves its purpose. The shelf is wide enough for my 15.6" laptop and an external hard drive. I haven't had an issue with anything sliding off.Only con is I agree with other reviews that the carpet used is not the greatest quality and attached poorly.

Until I found this shelf I tried almost every laptop stand out there but none of them worked very well. They were all rickety. This shelf is the best. The only drawback is the carpeting. Whoever was in charge of gluing down the carpet that day really screwed up. I was expecting mine to have the carpet peeling off based on the reviews I read prior to ordering it and they were right. It came out of the box peeling. But I just glued it down. It is sturdy. The shelf takes up very little space on the SKB DJ case. Glad SKB made this. SKB, next time, don't scrimp on the adhesive. Otherwise, SKB rules!

Well made, fits the shallower SKB racks perfectly. However, the fabric covering on both shelves I received is not glued down very well and the edges were already lifting when I received them. I can glue them back down, I guess, but this is NOT the kind of quality control I'm used to seeing from SKB...

This laptop holder works great. I use it to DJ for friends. I Was a Disc Jockey for 18 year and now retired from it but still have my equipment so when my friends ask if I’ll DJ for them I usually say yes but realized I needed to go digital without spending a lot of money. This worked out perfectly. It fold down so I can still put the top on my equipment crate. It really sturdy.

This is an excellent product! It is durable and has a padded surface. Also, it fits perfectly over the board without putting any pressure on the knobs. It is at a great angle for access to the laptop. A must have for anyone who plans to use their laptop while mixing. I am using it to record gigs via direct outs from my board to an audio interface. I'll also use it to play music prior to the shows.

Does exactly what I need. Not as fancy as the more expensive variants but I didn't have a need for those. This keeps my laptop sitting above the mixer. I keep it folded up which means it's tough to get to the knobs, though during a show I don't use the those typically after a sound check (and can easily reach the ones I do need). I'm using this with a MizWizard 16:2 and am very happy! You can get more but you'll pay more. All I needed was a place to put my laptop and this does the job very well.
