I sawed the 12" pure copper bar in half and fabricated two for use in my DIY home solar battery bank (four KiloVault LiFePO4 lithium batteries...14.4 kWh of storage power). I used a large piece of black heat shrink tubing (for protection) on the bars. These copper bars work perfectly for carrying current with ease. MUCH better/easier than fabricating battery cables and lugs. I bought the 1-1/2" x 1/4" x 12" solid bar. Really "overkill" IMO. I think the 1-1/4" x 1/8" x 12" bar would be more than adequate for most if they plan to use these type of bars for this type of application. But, in my case...bigger is prob better. Be careful sawing, drilling, grinding copper...use PPE, clamps, eye protection, and proper milling techniques. Copper is a softer metal to work with vs steel. Very happy with this vendor...packaging was excellent. Bars arrived straight, clean, and fast delivery.
