Baby started walking just before 9 months. The leash gave him freedom to move as a very mobile boy before he was able to follow commands. Now that has learned how to hold hands, I keep it on my wrist just as a backup. The backpack is adorable and the mini is big enough to carry diapers, wipes, and snacks. I use it instead of a big diaper bag for errands. Baby carries his own essentials.Very durable, high quality, easy to adjust straps that stay in place. I have thrown it in the washing machine, and it came out well.

We love this! We have a very active 2 year old that has some difficulty with listening. His long legs make him quick, and we have concerns with letting him walk on his own but he HATES the stroller. We figured that was the perfect option for us! He doesn’t love it, but he doesn’t hate it as much as his stroller. We like that we can fit diapers, wipes and a change of clothes in it, so we don’t have to carry a diaper bag. The water bottle pouch on the side is small, but it’s convenient for a little one. The fox is adorable and a nice alternative to something plain. We used it on a trip apple picking and though we had some stares because our kid was on a “leashâ€, we had a lot of comfort knowing that he couldn’t run from us. The leash has a lot of length to it for a toddler to have a little freedom.

I have a very adventurous toddler, with no fear of strangers or new places. I needed something cute and fun to help keep them from becoming a street pancake. This fox backpack checks all the boxes!Cute and fun? Check! Toddler loves to pack snacks and toys into it, and then pull things out while we are on our adventures.Functional? Also yes. It clips across the chest and has very sturdy straps, so I have no fear of it ripping, falling off, or being undone by the same toddler. However, if your kid knows how to unclip their car seat? This may not be the backpack for you. For those of us whose toddlers haven't learned that yet- it's a win. I get a lot of parents asking about it, and I still 100% recommend this one.

I purchased this backpack for my independent toddler to allow him freedom of walking in public. Having the backpack with a leash is comforting as a parent to know he won’t run off or be grabbed by a stranger. I was able to store his diapers, wipes, and snacks in the main pocket. The design is very cute and my son loved wearing his fox! The quality is sturdy, durable, and easy to clean when messes are made. I will continue to use this as much as a I need and encourage other parents to not feel embarrassed when using a backpack leash for their children!

Toddler couldn’t be more proud to carry around own backpack. We’ve had the pack for several months and it seems very sturdy, well-built— and oddly enough it hasn’t gotten dirty yet, despite being dropped on and landed on in asphalt parking lots. (Great bonus!!) Lightens some of the load from the diaper bag and lets toddler feel more independent. Best of all, the leash works. My only wish is that there was a second front-buckle lower on the backpack, since the whole unit can shift when the toddler pulls against it, but otherwise it’s great. The D-ring is solid and I’m not worried about it breaking when pressure is applied. My toddler straight up refuses to hold hands and is super persistent and curious, and like to run straight into the road or to heavy machinery. My back is still compromised from pregnancy, and I wanted to let the kid burn off energy by being mobile (not stuck in a stroller), so this is a promising solution. I thought our toddler would have been resistant to the leash or throw a fit, but so far it’s been fine with just a little complaining on tough days. If nothing else, the fox pack is absurdly adorable and that alone was worth the purchase price.

Before I had kids I was one of these people who thought this sort of backpack was nuts. "When I have kids," I thought, "I will simply watch my kids and teach them not to wander away! They will of course heed my wisdom and always remember my safety warnings, and be grateful for my leadership." Then, I had my first child, and once he hit toddlerdom he discovered a fantastic new skill: running. "Is that a dog? A butterfly? A speeding motorcycle? I should RUN to it." Now, even then I hesitated. What would people think?? Strangers I will never see again! Many who don't even have kids and frankly have NO idea what it is like to actually raise a runner. Reader, who cares about them? Your kid's safety comes first. I've used this backpack/strap for trail walks and going to busy places. It actually gives him MORE independence because he loves being able to carry and easily access his own water bottle and snacks in it. The little strap isn't that long but it has made the difference more than once in me being able to slow my runner down when he sees something cool--long enough for me to stop him to explain we need to walk. You *do* need to supervise your child closely because the strap is long enough for them to get tangled up in it--but chances are if you're considering this purchase you're already a parent who is watching their kid closely because **congratulations,** it looks like you have a runner, too. Forget the haters and get this backpack!

My children are escape artists. They can sense the exact moment when nobody is looking -like if I am working on putting food on the table at a picnic and I turn away for a minute or less and they are gone - so something like this became a necessity for safety. I used one with each of my kids. My now 8 year old had a monkey when he was a toddler, my now 6 year old had a dinosaur, and now my 2 year old got the fox. My kids loved carrying their own backpacks. I think it made them feel more grown up. I put their diapers and their wipes in them so I can just carry my normal bag and a sippy. They buckle in the front, but so do the adult backpacks we use on family outings so the kids think it’s normal. These are durable, super cute, and give piece of mind. 100% recommend if you are needing a better way to keep track of your kids in a crowded zoo or anything.
