The SKOLNIK carbon steel open-head drum comes with a removable cover and a bolt ring, has a 10-gallon capacity, and can be used to store and transport hazardous solids or liquids. The drum and the cover are made of carbon steel, which is resistant to impacts and wear. A gasket helps prevent leaks and is made of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber, which is resistant to heat, water, and wear. The drum has a storage capacity of 10 gallons, weighs 15 lb., and measures 17" high and 14" in diameter. The wall of the drum is 0.9 mm thick.
This product meets ASTM International criteria for carbon steel. It has United Nations (UN) specification markings of 1A2/X120/S for solids and 1A2/Y1.8/150 for liquids. (1A2 is the packaging code for a steel open-head drum; X120 indicates that the product has met tests for Packing Groups I, II, and III at a maximum gross mass of 120 kg; S is a designation for solids; and Y1.8/150 indicates that the product has met tests for Packing Groups II and III at a specific gravity of 1.8 and a hydrostatic test pressure of 150.)

Very nice product. LId closes and opens without any issues; I mention it because it seems earlier versions had a problem with the lid.Sturdy built. Perfect for my purposes. At 50% off the regular price, got it for about 50.00 USD is about right.

I don't like giving 5 stars very often, but it is a barrel. Solid built, heavy duty lid and retainer ring with big 15/16" nut. Cute little barrel actually. Little spendy in my opinion, but none the less nice barrel.

I used this as a garbage can for an industrial apartment. It worked quite well as it fit a 13 gallon garbage bag perfectly. Only down side was the inside of the lid started to rust after a while. Cleaned it off and coated with paint and it worked great after that.

Strong, sturdy construction and good heat tolerance, plus I didn't need to clean it out like the used barrels I was thinking of getting.

I did not buy it for waste. I use it to mix dry food stuffs. The lid is a major pain to secure it each time. The ring is a challenge to get aligned just right so as to fit below the body rim and above the lid rim. In addition, I believed it came with a plastic liner and I did not receive that. Possibly as I was shopping I put the wrong model in my cart - the one without the liner. But for the few bucks that was not my intention and I wish I could now just get the liner. Not sure if I still can. The lid design is a pain for frequent use.
