I use this seat for dragon boating. It stays in place without the underneath strap and is comfortable for the 90 minutes to 2 hours of practice.I practice 2-3 times per week. Poor planning on developers: The seat really needs a strap on the top long enough to hook over the paddle. The last one I had lost its gel due to the act that I kept folding it so it would be easy to carry - it lasted about 8 months

Waste of money. The gel displaces so it's basically like it wasn't there. Not only that, the strap that supposedly holds it down to your kayak ripped out on the first paddle. Do not buy this.

Gel padding was minimal at best. If you pushed with your fingers the material was easily displaced and no gel remaining in between. Was disappointed in product. Worse was the $10 return charge.

Solid item, by means of materials used such as the durable gel. Very happy with this seat pad.
