This is a great case for the price. The layout of the case I received was different from the pictured case, but the changes in the design were positive ones. Instead of tied ribbons to hold viola in, there is a velcro strap. The cutout for the shoulder rest is in a better location than the one pictured. There were some smaller differences as well. Overall I am very happy with this case!

The case fits my viola very well. I feel confident that it is protecting my antique instrument. The outside of the case under the fabric cover is hard. The fitted interior is plush velour type fabric over what I believe i solid foam . Hardware, including the closure and the zippers appear strong.

I appreciate having been issued a refund expeditiously.The case I received bears no resemblance to the pictures on Amazon; what I got is perhaps ok to load with children's legos, or metal toy cars, but the case doesn't work at all for anything like a viola. It simply is NOT an instrument case.

For the price I guess not bad but two huge downsides. It does not stay open steady which is an issue for me and the instrument is not sitting firmly inside. All that holds it by the scroll is a couple of ties, so if you carry it on your back the scroll repeatedly hits the back of the case. Would not buy again.

This case would not last through a single school year. The clasp is a pitiful little thing like you might see on a little girl's diary, and the rest of the case is built to match. I did return and get a different item from the same seller, which was much better, so the problem is not the seller--just this one item. Spend the extra $50 for the one with the brown liner and save yourself some frustration.
