It goes back and forth just like it's made to do. The only problem I ran into was the new hardware seem to pull the draglink down. I installed it using the old hardware and that seems to fix that problem.

This definitely helps against previously unwanted wobbles and vibrations. Smoothed things out a lot on my Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins 12 valve.

Ordered for my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. Perfect fit. Tightened up the play I was experiencing. Did have to use one piece of original hardware.

Quality product that decreased wander caused by uneven pavement for my 1999 Ram 2500 4x4. I had the factory steering damper and needed to re-use the mounts, however, it was not an exact fit. Different length of travel required re-positioning U bolts to 1/2 of travel..no complaint about that, just note it was necessary. I had to hacksaw two mounting bolts shorter and extend the threads so this to fit my truck without interference with other components. Fortunately I had the tools and was able to figure out how to do this. Would be 5 stars otherwise. Also had to use a crowbar to bend open the frame mounting tabs several 1/16" for the stabilizer to fit. I am satisfied with this unit, but was not pleased at all the extra work needed to install it.
