Softride springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the cinch style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker Softride springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.

Replaced factory rear springs on a 2017 Silverado Z71 with a 5” block lift. Excellent replacement and rides smooth and quiet again. I was getting the squeaking of springs and they were flattened out from hauling. Hardest part of install is the driver side where you need to loosen/lower gas tank to get access to bolt. Took me a good 2-3 hrs on the driver side taking my time and I had a full tank of gas to deal with. There is a vid on YouTube I referenced before jumping into the project. I have a 6” BDS lift and the 5” lift springs are a good look.

2014 Silverado 1500. The ride is comparable to my stock spring. My truck was already lifted with a 5” block and an add-a-leaf from procomp. These springs and a 1.5” block make the truck sit level with the front that is lifted 6”. I did the install in my driveway in just a couple hours. I did have to loosen the gas tank to get the driver side front bolt out. If you have a factory Reese hitch the back bolt are tough. I took the front of the spring loose and moved the spring as far forward as possible to get them out. All in all I’m very happy with them they’re a better ride in my opinion.

Definitely a softer ride then blocks. However, this is only one spring. If you need both that's a big chunk of money. Not to mention this is a five inch lift. If you had 6 inch blocks there is more then an inch drop. Even with these I have to put 2 inch blocks in to level. Depending on how much you can drop for your truck money wise. Think hard before spending.
