You can choose the amount of force/resistance you desire for your driving conditions. When unlocked, there is zero resistance on the sway bar and it moves freely throughout the suspension travel cycle. In the locked position, you also have three options of resistance with the three mounting hole options on the selectable torque arm.

Had to return, as the other person said the driverside arm and locking mechanism are really lose. For the money, it should be tight. Driverside arm also moves from it being a lose fit, just putting weight on fender which causes to hit the bolts for steering box. If you tighten the passenger side it will tighten up but you still have the up and down play on the driverside. to bad they have those problems. It is a good idea.

I purchased this because I wanted to beef up my front end. And went together smoothly. But not even taking my tj off road yet she has a gap and play were the locking mechanism meets the teeth of shaft. And the snap ring holding the assembly together has a gap which leads to a bit of play. Which equals out to about 2" of deflection at the end of link. Not at all good when jeep is lifted and the rolling from side to side while driving.
