This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the leaf. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the leaf. The Skyjacker add-a-leafs are pre-drilled for the center pin. Pin location varies with each application. Most have long tapered ends for a progressive affect and ride comfort.

The lift springs work well and ride good, they did lift my trucks rear about 3 inches instead of 2 though. It worked out well in my case though as I had lifted the front 2.5 inches and put a canopy on my tacoma. It ended up perfectly level.

I put these on my 2002 Tacoma 4-door 4x4. They provide about 2 inches of lift to the rear. They also improve the load carrying capacity. The springs taper to the end, which probably helps keep the ride from being harsh. They don't have anti-squeak pads on the ends (I made my own, so I can't say if they'll squeak over time). I've been using them for 6 months now and am very happy with their performance on- and off-road.The truck has the factory SnugTop canopy, and I usually carry a fair amount of tools. I occasionally carry 4 or 5 people and sometimes tow a heavily loaded utility trailer. Over the years the rear had gradually sagged to where it was lower than the front of the truck without any additional weight or anyone sitting in it.As part of an overall suspension job at 90,000 miles, I replaced front and rear shocks with Bilstein 5100's. I set the front shock pre-load to 1" higher ride. The rear Bilstein 5100 has 1 inch longer travel than stock. With the Skyjacker add-a-leaf, I'm now 2 inches higher in the rear and don't sag much with a load or loaded trailer. With the 1 inch additional rear shock travel, I found the rear brake hose (to the axle from the frame) is just long enough when the rear axle is at maximum extension. There are some good descriptions of installing add-a-leafs on various Tacoma websites such as TacomaWorld.Com or TTORA.com. Having a floor jack and a couple bottle jacks and some C-clamps really helps. I installed the add-a-leaf without removing the springs at either end. One thing I haven't seen is undoing the clip that holds the upper end of the rear brake hose to the frame. This allowed the hose end to pull down another inch. While installing the the add-a-leaf on the driver's side I needed the extra inch of travel in the brake hose so I wouldn't damage it.I made my own spring-end anti-squeak pads from cut up pieces of 2 inch fire hose (the outer woven shell) with a strip cut from a plastic kitchen cutting board. I slipped the fire hose pieces over the end, slid the plastic strips in and applied a liberal amount of anti-seize grease. So far no leaf-to-leaf squeaking. If the springs had come with anti-squeak pads, I would have rated them 5 star.Amazon deserves 5 stars for shipping these to me in Hawaii for free!!! In pricing add-a-leaf springs at local stores and on-line, shipping to Hawaii doubled the price. So Amazon's price, while not the best you might find on the mainland, is by far the best price I've seen in Hawaii!!!

I bought These for my 2003 Tacoma Double Cab. I plan on installing them on any ride i get from now on.(UPDATE) I have put about 15,000 miles on them. And still them same. The ride quality is the same if not better after the have settled in. I did however lose .25 inches after settling. Still love them!! I also paired them up with skyjacker add a leaf. and it leveld the truck.

For my 2010 Tacoma 4x4, only about 2 hour time to install both springs, Rear lift 21/2"does not bottom out any more.

My local spring shop wanted over $500 plus tax to add a spring. It was a bit of work but these did a better job I am sure because of the taper. The ride is perfect, back to what is should be with out the body role just changing lanes. If you can spin a wrench, go for it. Not a job for the meek, springs can kill, you need the right tools and experience.

PERFECT. Have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and I had the Bilstein 5100 put on to lift the front 2.5". These leaf springs leveled me out and even raked my truck just a tad which I love. I expect my towing experiences to be much more efficient.

This was a great setup for what I needed it to do. I would have rather had whole new leaf springs, but these add a leafs removed the sag, lifted, and worked well to handle loads better. They actually made the ride a lot smoother in some conditions.
