This barn door hardware worked great and supports a heavy wooden door. The info says it can support up to 300 pounds, although our door is no where near that heavy. The metal looks great, has everything you need to put it together, including the stops which make sure it does not let the door slide off. Very good price as well, would buy again.

I am really happy with this sliding rail set. I made my own custom door. While I did not weigh the door, it probably weighs around 100 pounds and this set seems to be well sturdy enough for it. I had a 42 in wide door for a 39 inch opening, and I chose this 96 in (8 ft) rail. I probably could have gone with a 7 ft rail, but I dont mind the extra railing. The door I made is 2.5 inches thick, which is much thicker than the max recommended thickness. I was able to make it work with buying longer hardware and cutting some of the thickness from the top on the back side so the door wouldn't scrape the trim piece mounted to the wall, but I would not recommend going thicker than the max 1.75 inch thickness. The installation instructions say to use a solid wood back plate to mount the rail on, which fixes the 20 inch hole spacing complaints other reviews had. I also found the issue other reviews talked about for the top hole for the door hanger mounts NOT being 1.4 inches as shown in the instructions. I think I ended up using 1.75 inches, which is what another review had recommend, which worked well.I like the keyed center seam, which works really well. The hangers roll very quietly and smoothly. The rail stops have little rubber bumpers that quietly stop the door. I didn't like the base piece, so I purchased a roller piece for the base. Nothing wrong with it, I just liked the roller look at the base.I feel like it is a nice looking rail set that works really well. I would definitely purchase it again.

5 stars for quality.4 stars because of the effort to figure it out.The directions have gotten better from previous reviews. However, the dimensions are still a bit challenging to figure out. There are decimals and fractions. The dimensions are not standard. For example 1.4†(one point four inches).We mounted to a ledger as suggested. The ledger is bolted to the studs. The mounting hardware is bolted to the ledger and very sturdy.The operation is smooth.We have an older house and I had to make some adjustments based on cased opening height, uneven floor and adapting to existing conditions.The breaks in the center didn’t work. I will need to find another solution.The door guide will not work either do to the uneven floor. I will find something custom for that as well.Tools required: stud finder, drill/driver, tape measure, ratchet/crescent wrench.In general, fits the desired outcome. Look at the dimensions before buying and know what you are getting into.Took only a few hours to mount. Doors took longer to prep and paint than the time required to hang them.
