Find the installation video by previous customer - priceless! As there are no instructions included. Thank you sir for posting. We replaced an existing broken lock with this and it’s great. Heavy duty, interesting safety pressure tab needed to trigger locking mechanism. If the measurements fit, it’s great.

The back back sliding glass door handle finally gave way and broke after about 15 - 20 years, it cracked and snapped off. Bought this which was a perfect replacement and does exactly what its intended to and does it well.Perfect fit, high quality, durable, easy to install. I could definitely say this was a good value and safely recommend.

No instructions, inside plate and outside plate are two different sizes, screws are the wrong thickness, others are the wrong length for the incorrect backplate.

Another buyer posted a video with instructions on how to install. FIND THAT VIDEO AND USE IT. There are only maybe 2 videos in the reviews at the time I’m writing this and only the one is an instructional video. Life saver. Lock is a solid build. Very sturdy and well put together. My door already had a 2 point mortise mechanism, so I literally only had to install the handles, which was great. Make sure you’ve got some bolt cutters to trim the locking mechanism. I had to cut off about 1/4” or so for it to properly fit our patio door. Otherwise, works great. Oh! And it’s mentioned in the video instruction review, but if the key isn’t working right (won’t release when you lock) ROTATE the metal prong of the locking mechanism 180°! That will fix it. Solid buy. Easy to install once you know what to do. Only wish it 1) came with instructions and 2) came in that ugly beige color every door frame seems to be. Ugly, but at least it would match.

This is a quality handle I used to replace the original handle that snapped off. Much better than the one that came with the door. If the holes in your door are 5" (4 15/16) this should work for you. I was leary because of some of the reviews, but it was easy to install. Just put it back the same way you took the old one off. Good sturdy handle. Seems like it will last forever. Had no issues with screw length, lock lever.

Product works great but a huge lack of instructions. Had to follow the pictures of the product. Just make sure you disassemble the main handle and screw it in with the bracket piece on the main handle. It’s a pain! But it works great

Can't use the locking mechanism at all. Despite all the previous measuring on the installed door handle at home, it turns out this still didn't fit. We had to use qty 3 washers on each screw in order to get the handle attached. The locking mechanism is skipped entirely, which leaves an inadequate handle - it's an inadequate handle in either case as it's strictly meant for keying purpose and not as a door handle - on the reverse (outside) portion of the door. So now need to order another handle, for the other side. And hoping the washers will maintain a tight fit. This is what happens when you don't want to buy a new door, and most of the handles are made to fit newer doors, not older ones. We need the nearly 5' spacing distance betw the door screws, and we got that, but the screws are too short for the door, by a fraction, but that means adding washers. This door handle is fantastic; I love it. But it's an expensive handle when that's all you're getting. And why isn't the locking mechanism built also for a sliding door exterior handle? What does that hurt? Except for a passage door handles are usually on both sides. UPDATE: There wasn't enough room between the edges of the slider to use the locking mechanism as a handle but we did decide to slip the locking mechanism to the other side so there is a bit more to work with in opening the door from the outside. It's not meant to be a handle, but that's what it's turned into. We don't even use the lock on the slider, but have a hardcore custom gate that has a bolt and it's own frame, so we're comparable or better on security. However, we did try ordering a two-handle set - thinking that meant two handles, one each side of the same door, but the two-handle set doesn't work together on the same door. So that was a return!

First handle I ordered broke instantly but due to a replacement being hard to find I ordered again and so far so good. The part that broke is the latch that turns the entire locking mechanism. Quality is ok but not as good as my original mortise lock that came with the sliding door. If you are replacing a broken unit you will know how to install it but as someone else mentioned there is an early review with a video as well. Its a good too to assemble on your kitchen table first. Lastly, I had to cut the 2 main long screws that join the sides so they would grab and you made need to set the latch plate out further to grab.At this point its a wait and see how long this will last I have my concerns as the first one broke so easily.
