Works exactly as it should, allows the slip fitter light mount to attach to a number of solid surfaces. Works well as long as you have 2 3/8 inch slip fitter mount.

I needed a base for my wind turbine. I found this and tried one, now I have 2 installed. They are solid, welded bases, pre slotted for attachment but I added 2 extra holes since I mounted them on 4X6 posts. The tube is thick and solid usually for a slip mount light post. I used a post in the center to mate with my wind generator and the result is a solid base which had held the turbines perfectly. If you are mounting a light, this will have enough strength for even the older mercury type light heads but my appication is a hight stress connection and it hold perfectly. At the one month mark, there is no sign of wear or decay. Will add details as summer progresses.

Light is very bright and lights up a half acre of a backyard. Highly recommend it. It is extremely heavy though.

I asked a question (see product Q&As) "Will this work for holes spaced 4 7/8" apart?" The answer was that yes it would. However after purchase I found that it would not quite fit. A caveat is that I used A2-70 bolts. Smaller bolts may have fit this spacing but we didn't feel comfortable with that solution. So we lengthened the slots to make it work. In addition, this product does not include the bolt as some other tenon adaptors do. However, if the adapter fits your application it seems strong enough to do the job.
