Where We Start
- We start with all naturally sourced ingredients.
For example, our chicken recipes are made from Manitoba-grown free-range chicken fed an Omega-rich, GMO-free diet.
- Our chicken is bone-in, with organs, raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics, drugs, or preservatives.
- Our wild BC pink salmon is bone-in, with organs, and is not treated with preservatives such as ethoxyquin. In fact, our wild salmon is so good, it even has the red caviar!
- Other recipes include GMO-Free blackberries, spinach, millet seed, blueberry, mango, carrot, cranberry, thyme, peppermint and more!
Our Process
- Our fresh, natural ingredients are combined at different stages and then dehydrated at low temperatures to lock in nutrients and flavor while cooking out any harmful elements.
- Due to our gentle dehydration process, a high percentage of the amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals are not denatured or harmed resulting in high bioavailabilities.
- The meat initially goes through a lethality phase during the beginning parts of dehydration, eliminating all pathogens.

This is literally like the only all organic pet food on the market!! There is so much information out there on the healthiest fresh/raw/real foods to feed our dogs.Staying away from kibble is the best thing you can do. (There was a time we didn’t know any better ourselves.) In our family, we cook fresh (dog safe) foods for our small dog, and always use a pre-made food base, like this. (So half fresh and half pre-made.)I’m so happy we can feel comfortable about feeding him the best quality ingredients! The fact that it’s not raw or dehydrated is nice for picky eaters that tend to leave their food sitting around all day. And he likes the cruchyness of it! Wish it was sold in a little bigger bag though! It’s quite small.

Smack seems to be perfect, as far as ingredients it’s perfect, all natural ingredients, no synthetic vitamins added,all organic whole meats, fruits & vegetables, what I look for in pet food. Guaranteed analysis is superb.So I ordered a bag of Purrfect Pork. I gave my cats a few pieces was shocked that they were as large as they were for cats, this is a size for a medium to large dog. I crumbled a few pieces up and mixed them with their kibble.The first day they attempted to eat them, the second day they were taking the pieces out and leaving them on the side. I guess they didn’t like the texture or hardness. I tried to crumble them smaller but still they left them aside. I finally put it in my Ninja and ground them into powder after a week of them refusing to eat them. I am using the powder as a topper for their wet food. It’s working out great. But until they change this texture for cats I will not purchase again. Plus although SMACK has excellent ingredients they do not state they are AAFCO approved.
