I sized up to a medium for my 10 pound Yorkie who usually wears a small. It fits him like a glove! There are three snaps in front which makes putting it on a breeze. There is a snap on the back which the top of the hood can attach to so it doesn't flop around. The only thing it's missing is a leash hole on the back .
