I have been a dedicated user of SmallRig products for my video production company, and I recently had the opportunity to experience their exceptional customer service firsthand. While using the SmallRig Battery VB99, I encountered an issue where one battery stopped holding a charge, and the other charged slowly. As a professional relying on reliable equipment, this was a concern for my workflow. However, I reached out to SmallRig's customer service (Alex was a big help) and was pleasantly surprised by their swift and efficient response. They acknowledged my issue and promptly overnighted me two brand-new batteries as replacements. This level of support and dedication to their customers is truly commendable.Despite this isolated incident, I must emphasize that I remain a big fan of SmallRig and its products. Their extensive range of camera accessories has become an integral part of my professional setup. In terms of build quality, design, and functionality, SmallRig consistently delivers outstanding performance. It's important to note that encountering occasional issues is common with any product, but how the company handles them sets them apart. SmallRig's commitment to customer satisfaction and its willingness to go above and beyond to support small businesses like mine has earned my unwavering loyalty.I have complete confidence in SmallRig and its dedication to producing high-quality products. The SmallRig Battery VB99, despite the hiccup I faced, remains a valuable addition to my gear collection. I appreciate their exceptional customer service, reinforcing my decision to support SmallRig in the future.Overall, I highly recommend SmallRig to professionals and enthusiasts needing reliable camera accessories. With their top-notch customer service and a wide range of exceptional products, SmallRig has proven to be a reliable partner for my video production needs.

It is expensive yes but it's much smaller than most of your regular Vmounts and has WAY WAY more features like easy and fast charging over usbc, Dtap on the battery its self and then some. It holds battery extremely well, and delivers power perfectly I have had no hiccups with it however I've only used it to power my camera. I soon plan on trying to power a light and power my camera and monitor at the same time. You can get cheaper but I don't recommend going with no name brands so while you don't have to go with these ones but if you are interested and they are on sale I would 10000% buy it again.

It's well made, like solid, nice looking, a useful screen. Honestly a lot of V-Mounts are pretty dang dated in their design, bulky when they don't need to be, goofy ridges and weird stickers. This is a proper modern looking v-mount.it's versatile (so many ways to plug in to!), hell you can charge it via USB-C. No need to lug a charger in your bag. You can power your phone with it, on my gimbal I can power my Ursa 12K and also a USB accessory at the same time. It's such a delightful piece of kit.And it's affordable. Same price as comparable V-mounts.There's like no reason not to buy the SmallRig battery.

I have been using this for my DSLR and remote 4K video recorder and the battery holds up well for several hours of filming on both. I have also used it to quickly power up my phone. Having this on a video shoot has been a tremendous help and reduced my need for swapping batteries and keeping things plugged in or charged all the time.

As a professional photographer it is important to have power when out shooting. I own 3 of these batteries and they work great. You can charge your camera and phones with them, power many USB C items and power lighting and many other devices. You can't go wrong with any product from Small Rig. Everything I own from them is high quality.

How can a piece of equipment be so good, and so bad at the same time?I bought my Smallrig v99 practically days after it came out on the market; always trusting in the quality of Smallrig over all other products, and looking to have a rig on my A7IV that would allow me to use a single battery for long periods of time.At first I was delighted. Both in its form and design, as well as in its performance, they were always 10/10. One day, after about 8 months of use, suddenly my camera started to fail. A failure that only occurred when using the battery. No matter how I connected the camera (D-Tap, USB C, USB A, 8V... the failure continued persistently... and it ruined my work, stopping my recordings and interfering with flickers in the data I was recording.I started consulting with colleagues, who also use the same battery as me (the V99) and ALL OF THEM, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, started to present different issues, similar to mine. Some with charging issues, others with a USB C that no longer worked, and others bricked. I'm talking about approximately 10 people, who bought the battery more or less at the same time.Little by little, I stopped trusting it, and stopped using it as my only "reliable" work tool. Until one day, the worst happened. In full "regular" use of all the equipment, and recording the first dance at a wedding, it simply turned off, and did not turn on again. For a moment I thought it was charging... but; how is that possible? 2 or 3 minutes before I had checked and it said that there was approx. 35% of the battery left. No, it wasn't the charge.I connected it and it didn't do anything. At times, it showed the Smallrig logo on the screen, and it turned off as if it was drained. I was stunned. I connected it to charge via USB, and nothing. Via D-Tap, and it started to show signs of "charging".. and say 30%... but the second after disconnecting it, it came back and turned off.All this is very sad; because of the battery, and because of the brand. I came to Smallrig in the first place, with the hopes of giving it a much more professional look and use. I came looking for high quality equipment, and willing to pay the price to have it, (almost 300 dollars at its starting price) but all that was useless, if in the basic use of the camera, I can't even trust it.disappointed.

Initially, I thought the SmallRig V Mount Battery VB99 had completely stopped working, as it wouldn't power on or charge. However, I discovered that it has a self-protection feature that reset itself overnight. This is a fantastic safety measure that ensures the longevity of the battery. Now, it's working perfectly and efficiently powers all my gear. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing battery. It is intuitive to use, it gives you wattages, it is small and dense which means it takes up less space for the same battery life. All the Vmounts I have used previously needed their own v mount charger. this just takes USBC which is something that i did not expect I would love as much as I did. the usbC port makes this battery double as a large capacity powerbank and that has been so useful in shoots where I might need to edit on set and i can have the confidence that it can charge my laptop as well in a pinch. it displays its battery and you can charge the battery pack from usbc while supplying power to the rest of your gear which means that if you connect up everything and your powerbank is running out of battery, you can essentially use this battery pack as a mains power adapter while running a monitor, wireless follow focus, transmitter all off the same device.an intersting really small note, it seems to not fully stand up flat, if you put it on the table and push it, it rocks a little bit, so the bottom is not completely flat. just a strange design (could also be that the battery is expanding but i find it unlikely)

This battery is awesome. It’s sleek, gives an accurate battery reading, and seems to last a decent amount of time (w/ my a7SIII I shot a 1.5 hour music performance recording through my Ninja V and had 54% left). I think an under-appreciated aspect of this battery is it’s charge speed. I swear it charges 30% in about 10-15 mins, which is great for small breaks during shoots. Will definitely be getting another.
