If you are patient and have several bottles to practice with, it's a great product! I've been hoping to use this glass cutter for a few projects. Although it does take some practice to get the hang of it, it's a great learning opportunity. The cutting arm and adjustable handle make it easier to maneuver and cut intricate shapes, including curves and bevels, which is a big plus for me. The fact that it can fit most sizes and shapes of bottles is also very convenient. The quality of the materials is good, with a sturdy stainless steel base plate and a durable brass cutter head, and the included accessories are helpful.Overall, I'd say this glass cutter is a solid choice for anyone looking to upcycle old glass bottles into unique pieces of art or functional items like vases or candle holders - just be prepared to spend some time getting familiar with it and refining your technique. I will need a lot more practice!

I didn't do it perfectly the first time, but the cutter worked great. It was easy to adjust to the size of the bottle. Spins smoothly. Gives great instructions (I should have followed them vs trying to skip the step of pre marking the line) but it came with everything needed. Marker, bands, tape, gloves and more. I have always wanted to try and make a self watering wine bottle and now I can make them for gifts or to sell.

Had tried bottle cutters like the Kinkajou in the past and could never get them to work on the tons of bottles we have saved. It only took two very quick (and possibly drunk) tries to get a cut with this cutter during a party! Assembly was easy and the size makes it steady for pretty much any bottle. I might tap it for a set screw to lock the swivel head and cut down on the necessary sanding.

I am now glass cutting expert, but for the price of this piece, I expected a bit more. I’ve done a bit of hand cutting on wine bottles and other glass products so I thought this would make accuracy much easier.Perhaps I just need more practice but even doing a simple cut around a wine glass ended poorly. As I rotate the bottle around, trying to apply even pressure to both the cutting arm and to the bottle, I realize that the metal arm that holds the base of the wine bottle flexes a little, and my line was not even all the way around.I also tried to cut a square-ish whiskey bottle, but had a very difficult time keeping the cutting arm firmly pressed up against the glass to cut it properly.Yet again, I tried to cut a bottle with a bit of an angle – and for this one I feel like the tool was a bit more useful as I tried to encircle a bulbous bottle.I would not see this to set up particularly. I definitely need much more practice on these.

I use this to cut my liquor, wine, and beer bottles to reuse them in my garden as planters. They work really well to cut off angles in the glass. I especially like this to cut rectangular shaped bottles because the roller gives me a consistent scribe on the bottle. The rubber cork that holds the bottle opening in place is important to maintain the bottle placement. Very happy with this product. Would recommend this over the handheld glass cutter. Makes cutting bottles much faster and cleaner cuts.

Package was missing pieces and it seems very flimsy

In both the video and instruction, it shows that you can twist the handle knob to adjust the cutter head to a fixed position or rotatable for wavy cut. However, it doesn't seem to be true. The cutter head always rotate. That makes it hard to cut straight.

There is an old home place on the edge of our property that existed from around 1880 to the 1940s. They buried some of their trash and my wife likes to hunt for old bottles. She has found some nice stuff, but alas some of them are broken.I ordered this so she can salvage parts of those broken bottles and use them for various craft projects. Neither of us had used a bottle cutter prior to this, so there was a learning curve, and we began by using throw-away bottles to get some practice. The instructions are actually pretty good, and we were able to figure everything out.If you’ll take a look at the assembly video here on the product page, you’ll see it only takes a couple of minutes and is simple. Before getting this, I had never thought about using hot and cold water to actually make the clean break.Overall, this seems to be a decent product... but I personally don’t have the patience for stuff like this. My wife on the other hand enjoys the process.
