Lucked into a good used Enovy after Subaru totalled. Local reporter for Marysville Dispatch ghost town newspaper as well as work in historic preservation, site snooping and risking all kinds of old mountain wagon tracks. Added this after radios, dash cams et other extra equipment just because I always was curious about them; price and reviews were right so snagged out of curiosity and excuse for another cool auto gadget in blank space on dash. NOT for life/death off-road extreme driving where a few degrees either way spells zoom or doom. Prob want a digital for THAT. But found it curiously useful in putting a number or value on some slopes I took for granted, esp the horizontal level that can show uneven loads, etc. Ferocious side winds yesterday hit flank of this heavy Envoy w/full tank (3 tons?); noticed it registered the slight tilt. Vehicle has a digital compass but never reset and likely won't bother as the compass is responsive and accurate; easier to read than a digital readout w/context of seeing rest of scale. A LOT of backcountry visits to remote old mine sites and very helpful. Have better vector awareness in confusing mountain canyons. Xtreme / moto offroaders that survive on a degree of difference or so would likely get a digital version w/lights; larger scales, etc. based on the fancier versions seen before deciding on this one. But wouldn't be surprised if they could do with this one, which seems to fit the average driver that might be surprised at how useful or informative they can be... even if just curious.

Given the poor quality of this item,m the price should be closer to $10. Compass doesnt work. Tried to return the item but this seller has so many stipulations listed on the return instructions, I would be guaranteed to be charged a "100% restocking fee". Stay away from this product AND this seller.

This was not my favorite purchase from Amazon. The compass works fine, as long as it's away from any speakers or heavy metal. The two inclinometer displays are pretty stiff to adjust (meaning they don't change easily). THe adhesive I found to be okay, but when I first moved it away from my speaker it wasn't enough to keep it down. My adhesive would be enough to keep it down though had I placed it right the first time. I, like others, now have this in my glove compartment though. It was kind of in the way, kind of not staying put.

With a name like Smittybilt I figured the quality would have been a little better. 100% plastic. The compass isnt even close to accurate. Ive had it on my dash for about 2 week and the only time it registers that im going up hill or down is if i hit the breaks really hard. getting it to 0 out on both gauges is almost impossible. Wish i had just spend that $20 on gas and gone camping. Not gunna demand a refund but i wouldn't turn it down either. very disappointed that Smittybilt put their name on his and didn't quality check it first.

Yes, it’s true! Cheesy and funky. For under 20 bucks what would anyone expect. I don’t need an accurate compass with 360 degrees for land navigation or one with 6283 mils for adjusting artillery. Just one that will tell me the general direction I’m going in. Some isolated rural roads in the Rocky Mountain States don’t mark their roads very well. Hence, when I can’t see the sun such as at nighttime or in fog, I need something to tell me if I had turned the correct direction or not. The Clinometer or tiltometers are just for entertainment. When I’m bored and passing the 500 mile mark on an 800 mile day, it gives me something else to look at as I bounce down the highway on my…what else…motorcycle. The Velcro I glued to it holds it on the fairing dashboard under the windshield. Oh, yes. Please know I’m not someone hired by the company to give a five star rating. Just some guy who needs to know if he turned north or south, east or west, or the correct way.

I'm impressed with this little mechanism. It seems to work smoothly and be well built. It has better quality than you would guess from the price. I was surprised by the size. The whole thing is about 5 inches wide. The description didn't mention dimensions and maybe just based off of my memory of one my uncle had in the 70's I expected it to be larger. My only complaint is there is no mark on the Compass globe to line up with your direction. Overall though its a great little gizmo to stick to your dash.

Absolutely garbage. I get it hard to believe for the price, I'll admit it was cheap enough I thought worth a shot in the dark. But the minute it showed up I could not believe how cheap it was made. Reminded me of the junk toys you can find at a run down gas station you buy for something that would distract your crying child for ten minutes. Unfortunately the usefulness of this product did not even last that long. I will admit though the only part that did kinda work was the compass. But it was only off by a quarter hahaha north was north east I was impressed. As for the whole reason of purchasing being the clinometer....well they didn't even move unless you slapped it. I tried different mounting points on the dash, different angles of setting the display and absolutely no concurrent reactionor positive measurements from the clinometer. The whole idea of it is awesome the execution is complete garbage. I would not recomend for any trail ridder, mud truck, or rock crawler. Absolutely absurd this is even a product you can purchase.

Simple peel and stick, it's great for older jeeps, doesn't need power to work!

This product seems to be very good but the cost was very expensive what I received for that price you would have thought that would have been at least lit up that's about the only thing I'm disappointed with

Funciona correctamente pero el pegamento de la base de reblandecida un poco con el sol. Buen artefacto para prevenir las maniobras en pasos complicados.

I really wanted this device to work. But the compass is complete crap. It simply does not work. Not even close. For example when driving south it says east. When driving west it says north. I was warned that these cheap devices do not work in most vehicles because of the electric wiring in the vehicle. That has proven to be true with this device. Sadly it looks like I will need to get one of the expensive ones that are designed to cope with the electronic environment in the cab of a vehicle. A refund of money back would be good. I really do not know how a company can sell this item in good faith. Amazon you need to consider banning this item from sale on your site, please.

Muy mala calidad en plásticos, pegamento etc. O lo hacen de mejor calidad o le bajan el precio.
