I had an issue with the controller but I contacted the vendor and they sent a replacement with very little fuss. Thank you!Installation was simple. Line up the arrows on the connectors, plug in the power, and press the mode button. These lights are VERY bright. I leave them at the lowest level for my steps. I plan on mounting more elsewhere and I'm sure the other levels will come in handy. Cord length to the first light is about 10 feet. I mounted these on the riser of my steps drilling a hole with a 1 inch speedbor max drill bit. fit very well. I'll add a pic later once I shovel some snow :)

Purchased this kit for outlet new deck and it’s perfect. Just need to drill a 1-1/8†hole and plug them all together. Don’t waste time looking any further. They have 4 brightness settings so you have your pick.

This set of recessed lights are very straightforward. The transformer to to plug in all the lights is included. It has timer modes to set how long of a preset you want. Also it has a photocell that detects daylight and will turn on and off accordingly.i have under my deck so these turn on sooner and off layer due to where I had to mount the transformer.The lights are recessed and do require tou to have the hole saw bit of 1 1/8". Then they are plug and play. The wire included isn't going to allow you long runs or to split them up unless you cut and splice into the wire. These are dimmable and will remember your last setting. Makes for a clean look one installed.

I picked this lighting system up to use to add better lighting to the (considerable) stairs up to our rental cabin- we've had solar lights on the stairs for a few years, but they tend to fail after a year or so and replacing them gets pricey. So when I saw this, I realized it would likely be perfect. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to install them there for a bit- I'll update this review and add pictures of the final install when I do- but I did test them out to ensure that they would work the way that I had been hoping that they would.My testing setup was- as you can see from the picture- quite basic. I put the control box with two of the lights hooked up on a ladder outside our garage and plugged the control box in with an extension cord- that is one minor thing I didn't like, I would have liked a BIT longer of a power cord on the control box, but it will likely work for most people. There is PLENTY of wire though for the lights themselves, and even an extension for the output side. I set the whole thing up in the middle of the day, set the delay, and waited to see how it worked at night (when the picture was taken).Setting it up is easy- reading the instruction wouldn't hurt, but it's also fairly self-explanatory. It can be set up a number of ways, but I want the lights to come on when it gets dark and stay on for a length of time. I'd prefer being able to set them to go off at a set time, but that doesn't seem possible- which is a very minor gripe, it just means that we should really change the time they're on between summer and winter so they're not going off earlier or later than we want.The lights put out a decent amount of light- I didn't change the base settings, but they can be dimmed as well. They're not going to be something you'd be reading from, but as they're intended to be installed at ground-level anyway they're pretty much just right. It's nice that they can be installed either with just the lights themselves or with the included housings- I'm not sure which we'll end up using yet, I have to look at how they'd mount best on the stairs. Both the control unit and the lights look to be pretty solidly waterproofed- I wouldn't expect you could submerge them, but they should be fine out in the weather for a good while. The connectors for the lights actually impressed me- they should be quite watertight as they screw together and have an o-ring to help seal them up. It's nice that you can choose how many you want to use as well, and I looked and saw that you can also purchase extension cords for the connectors too so if you need to put them further apart than the leads (about 3') you can do so as well.From my initial testing, these are going to work out very well I think- I can't wait until I can actually install them and see how they look out at our cabin!

I ordered this and another product similar to this and used in a different application than deck or step lighting. I love that i was able to install these as down lights in my exterior soffits and space at my on interval to provide and create a really nice ambiance and exterior accent to my new home. Highly recommend for this purpose. Certainly not adequate to serve as exterior illumination in this application but provides a great appearance.

Don’t be fooled by “low voltage†verbiage when it comes to lighting. Remember, there’s also volts, amps, watts, power that contribute to the brightness of a given bulb. And these are capable of being as bright as you could need and also are versatile given the dimming options.The functionality of the transformer is intuitive and surprisingly very durable and both the individual lights which are about the size of a “half dollar†coin including the stainless steel baffle…present with an appeasing aesthetic and a strong solid feel.When you’re installing these and recessing them into something that requires your drill a hole for this specific item, you want to make sure that all components are going to withstand the test of time and be easy to install. Which is accomplished with this product.It is mentioned you don’t necessarily have to drill a hole or install them as “recessedâ€. However, that is how you would obtain the most flush and long term solution. Especially when it comes to the connectors which were higher quality than expected.The ability to dim the lights, set dusk until dawn, use a timer and an easy transformer operation only make the remote control an extra bonus. I’d like to see WiFi or making these have smart home integration. But that can be accomplished differently.

This LED deck light set is a great way to add additional lighting to your outdoor deck or yard. While the LED lights are small, they are very bright. So it’s nice that you can adjust the brightness.The lights are connected in series, but they give you a lot of wire between the lights so there’s a lot more versality with this set than others I’ve looked at. In fact, I like how the wiring used gives you the option to even use them as accent lights for your walkway and not just your deck.I haven’t tested the photocell yet, but I like that there’s the option with this set to have the lights go off from dusk to dawn.As it’s still winter, I’m going to have to wait to install them. But just inspecting the build quality on these, I’m confident they can handle our Canadian winters.

This summer, we're working on building a patio and steps leading down to the backyard, and I’m excited to add some low-voltage lighting along the way. I decided to test out a set of lights indoors first, and I’m already impressed. The included transformer has a memory function, which recalls my settings each time, making it super convenient.So far, the lights have worked perfectly, offering enough light to create a cozy atmosphere without being overwhelming. While I haven’t installed them outside yet due to the weather, I’m confident they’ll be a great addition to the deck.
