We bought 2 so far and buying our 3rd one. It fits a 45 and revolver and fits well under the seat. Very sturdy and durable. We have no complaints and love it.

This safe is perfect for car and airline travel. It is lightweight and small. DO NOT get the version with the TSA combination/lock if you are securing a weapon for air travel as TSA Regulations require sthat even the TSA must not be able to access your weapon. If you are just trying to protect other valuables while flying, or at your destiunatgion, the TSA combination/lock is fine.It is not the most sturdy safe. It is made of PVC, the same plastic used for sprinkler pipes. But it is very rigid and certainly strong enough to protect your weapon in a vehicle or airplane... unless someone takes a big hammer to the case. Even with the similar cases that are made of steel, it is still the cable that is the weak spot. I don't think I would use this case at home where industrious children might actually take a hammer to it. But for other uses like cars and Air Travel, it is great.

Relatively inexpensive car safe that can fit underneath the seat or any where you want to conceal it. I tethered the cable to the seat in my Audi and put the box under my seat. I can easily access it. It is also TSA keyed so can use for transporting weapon for travel. The only negative is the hinge is on the outside and therod hinge could be knocked out with the right tools but in a smash and grab no one is going to spend the time doing that. For the price its a pretty responsible way to lock your gun in car.

Pro:Approved by TSA and California DOJ.simple 4-digit mechanical lock (vs key or biometric)easy to deploylock mechanism does not stick overly much when you are opening the safe (I've had safes that tend to bind and make the lock hard to turn when you're trying to open the safe.)Cable rated to 1,500 pounds (though I imagine it would yield to double-action bolt cutters)Fits easily under my car seatFYI: this size easily accommodates a 9mm sub-compact semiautomatic or a J-frame revolver.Con:Cable and safe probably wouldn't resist bolt cutters, saws or angle grinders (but then, it's not a floor mounted steel safe either and isn't pretending to be)

The short story is I don't normally write reviews, but the seller gets 5 stars because they got it delivered overnight to a hotel.The full review: This is a box. It isn't a safe. It isn't high, or even medium security. I bought this because it meets TSA guidelines for checking a firearm and keeps me legal.IT. IS. NOT. HIGH. SECURITY. I had one of these, I lost the key at TSA, and had to be able to get into it, in order to show TSA it was empty, but to do that, I had to be able to re-lock it. So I broke into it with an adjustable crescent wrench. Got my firearm out, and then placed it into the one I ordered from this seller. They got it to me overnight, in a hotel, in a city I do not live in. This meant I didn't have to delay my flight, call a locksmith, or deal with any hassle with TSA. It was nice and easy.Do NOT use this to secure a firearm in your home, in your vehicle, or anywhere other than flying and checking a bag with TSA. It isn't secure for that. But it met TSA regulation, amd the seller SAVED MY ASS!

This is not a gun safe! A determined thief (or bored child) can get this box open. Use a different solution for home storage.But, for travel to and from the range, or in your checked luggage, this is a perfect lightweight solution. A 4.5" XDM fits with room to spare. I can fit a second gun in the same case if I remove the end of the flashlight from the XDM.The combo lock is a BIG PROBLEM because it has a TSA key override. Who said the TSA guys are licensed to handle a firearm? If a non-licensed TSA employee removes your firearm from its box, you could be guilty of a felony in that state. I know it's sounds unlikely, but I would rather not be the test case. If the TSA employee wants to go crazy and shoot somebody (God forbid), I would rather him have to break the box open. Better yet, fly with one box for pistols and a second box for magazines (luggage space permitting).I bought 3 of these plastic boxes and keep them in my range bag. I have the metal versions in my car and in my home closet. I intend to buy a set of keyed-alike tubular cam locks and switch them out so I won't have to wrestle with multiple keys.The locks are available from SnapSafe for $10 each, but you have to buy the whole set at once as they will not match locks you already own. I guess that would be a safety vulnerability if you could just order keys by number. I could not find generic locks with the correct sized cam, so I am buying directly from SnapSafe.

Good little combo & key lockbox and fits my weapon nicely. Would have been 5 stars, but the key lock says TSA 007. I have a TSA 007 lock for my luggage, and I can confirm it doesn't fit.My copy also didn't come with it's own key, so I have no way to open the lock other than the combination. Maybe I got a dud, but if it worked it would have been a good value for the money.
