This clip is designed to allow you to connect to the most common 8-pin surface mount ICs, while the IC is still on the PCB. This can be used to break out the pins for testing, but most people will probably use this to reprogram serial EEPROMs, without removing them. Everything is pre-soldered, so it's ready to go as soon as you open the box, and the quality is good. I have no complaints or negative comments, and can recommend this test clip.

Didn't work for me. Think I need to buy a better quality clip. This one just doesn't make good enough contact with the bios chips on any boards I have. I'd say its a pass.

This in-circuit clamp is much easier than desoldering your flash chips for programming. The clip fits perfectly into place and feels secure on the chip. The wiring is about 12" long, so you have plenty of reach to work with. Everything comes ready to go, so you don't need to solder any headers or wires into place. The adapter board plugged right into my programmer like a DIP chip and worked like a charm. Overall, great quality and convenience. Recommended.
