I enjoy spending a lot of time outside, and soft lighting is always a great addition to any backyard. I saw this ILOVINIT Solar LED Outdoor Lamp and thought it could be a great option for some of the areas of my yard that could use some additional light to fully enjoy after dark. This unit comes in an amazingly small box, and you can choose how many of the post-pieces that you want to include in order to make it as tall as you'd like. Assembly is easy and it wouldn't be difficult to add or remove portions of the post to size for a floor light or a table light. The unit itself is capable of three lighting levels and is operated by a pull cord. This is not a really bright light, but a soft, warm light - it would be enough to read or play a game camping, for example.Where the light lacks: it feels pretty flimsy overall, like it would last a season or two if left outdoors in the elements. I am particularly concerned with the pull cord, as it feels very thin. I would guess that it will be the first thing to fail.I will try to protect the lamp in order to be able to use it as needed, and hopefully it will stand the test of time. However, for the price (nearly $80 at this writing), it just doesn't have the quality feel one might expect.

This floor lamp comes in a surprisingly small box. It's easy to assemble and is about 5 feet tall when assembled. You initially have to charge the built-in rechargeable battery using the supplied USB cord and then can use sunshine to charge via the solar panel on the top of the lamp thereafter (or USB again for quicker charges). The light is very warm, almost yellowish, dim white light. There are 3 brightness levels, selectable by a thin pull cord beneath the light. The dimmest setting is very dim and the strongest setting is still pretty dim.At Halloween I put out a huge batch of bags (pre-filled with candy and toys) with carrying handles on my front deck, and there's a sign that says "Please take 1 bag." I only have 1 porch light to illuminate the dozens of bags, so I carried this (lightweight) lamp out to the deck and it helped to illuminate all the bags so the trick or treaters could easily see them. This lamp might give light equivalent to about a 40-watt bulb, I'd say. Also, yesterday the power inexplicably went out in my neighborhood all afternoon, so I used this in my living room to provide a little bit of auxiliary light. As long as you don't expect the light to be bright, you should be satisfied with this floor lamp. It's not flimsy, but I don't think it would necessarily hold up too well in the elements over the long haul, so I'm keeping it inside except for a few evenings on the back patio during nice weather when it will provide soft atmospheric lighting.

This solar lamp is simple to assemble. It's literally just screwing the lamp onto the post. It can be charged by the solar panel or backup USB port. The port is not in the most convenient spot, but it works. The lamp isn't bright, but provides a subtle, ambient lighting that works well for patio's, decks, porches, etc. If you have a large area, I would suggest more than one of these lamps to light up a larger area. Be aware not to leave lamp outside & uncovered, as the lamp is not water proof.

I quite like the design of this lamp and the way it lights up. The solar charging feature is cool and works, while also retaining USB-C charging capability when necessary. The base is nicely weighted, balanced between keeping the lamp quite stable but also easy to move. For such a large lamp, I would like it to get a little bit brighter but otherwise the light is nice and well diffused. Also cool that the height is easily adjustable, just by not installing some of the body rods.

Updated Review:I have been using this outdoor floor lamp for about four months. While it is not particularly bright, it provides a decent amount of light. This year, our area has experienced very little rainfall. However, a few weeks ago, it rained lightly but consistently for several days, accumulating about three to four inches of rain in our city. After the rain, I noticed that the lamp had stopped working. Upon inspection, I discovered approximately half an inch of water inside the lamp.Based on its title, this product was marketed as waterproof, suggesting it could withstand outdoor conditions. In the “About this item†section, its waterproof rating is listed as IP44, which means it is only protected against splashing water from any direction. Despite this, light rain was able to seep into the lamp. The only possible entry point was a hole on the top, covered by a small solar panel. Sealing this hole would have been easy and quick, yet the manufacturers failed to do it properly. If this had been an isolated incident, I might have been more forgiving. However, after reading reviews, I found that another customer had experienced the same issue. Due to this design flaw, I am deducting two stars from its original rating and can no longer recommend this product.---------------------------Original Review:This lamp looks nice and feels well-made. The case is made of polyethylene (PE), which is a type of plastic. Its website states that it is IP44 waterproof, which means it is water-resistant and NOT waterproof. It has protection against splashing water, not water jets, from any direction. It provides a bright soft white light (3000K) based on its webpage and 2700K, which emits a yellowish-orange hue, based on the label on the lamp. The vendor needs to correct this discrepancy. Its three-level brightness can be selected by pulling the chain below the lamp. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery that can be charged by the solar panel on top of the lamp or by USB.It is decently sturdy, but to make it stronger, I weighed it down with a 10-pound plastic-covered plate. It is certified by the following respectable organizations, which means it is safe to use:• CE Marking (Conformité Européenne), which certifies that this product complies with EU (European Union) safety, health, and environmental requirements.• RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), which certifies that this product complies with the restriction use of specific hazardous materials found in electronic and electrical products; it is globally recognized.A safety certification from UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is preferrable but getting one from CE is OK too.I like this lamp mostly because it has its own stand, and I recommend it.
