The setup of the solar panels everything is simple I would recommend you at least charge the solar panels , I believe they do come charged already, but, I personally charge them for a couple hours before putting them out into use, the directions in the book are very vague and short and concise ,but, still leaves you with some questions and clarification is questionable, so they need to do better in that with the instruction booklet. Anyone that buys these they do fit the Blunk outdoor cameras make sure you take the batteries out of the blink camera before you put the solar panel into action. No batteries are to be used when you have the solar panel because the solar panel has a little power source inside the bottom of the underside of the panel and that absorbs the energy and it transmits it to the camera. I'm so impressed with these I ordered two more and it will help reduce my cost on batteries Plus with the use of the solar panels it will enable you to get the maximum benefit of the use of the blink camera. For those blink camera owners, if you recall ,they said that the batteries can last up to 2 years ,well there's a drawback to that, if it's going to last 2 years you virtually have to not even use the camera almost to the benefit of what it's designed for , with the solar panels in use that virtually eliminates the batteries and gives the power to the camera whether it's cloudy or sunny it's still collects light. I love it and I am anxiously waiting my second order of panels so I can change over the power supply to solar so I can save money on those costly lithium ion batteries. The cost of these solar panels virtually pays off in saving money on batteries. To me this is a win-win. UPDATE: I installed the two new solar panels today 1/3/25. They work great as expected.

Charged the battery just like the instructions said. It worked well for several days....while the sun was shining. Then had two cloudy days and the battery went completely dead. It would recharge a little when the sun came back, but not enough to keep the camera operating through the night. If you live where the sun shines EVERY DAY, this might work for you. But a couple of cloudy days, and it can never catch up and recharge to last through the night. I switched back to batteries.

Updated a second time: I posted about the problem with one unit. I am delighted to say that the seller responded and sent a new unit, which is working fine. I love not going through disposable batteries, and our cameras are set for higher LED intensity, something I couldn't do with batteries.---Updated: These worked nicely for about 6 weeks, then one of the two units stopped working. The red light that indicates it has charge is on, but it doesn't power either of our two Blink Outdoor cameras. It wasn't that expensive, and I'm glad one is working. There seems to be no way to contact the seller.----We like our Blink outdoor cameras, but don't like buying & disposing of lithium batteries, and could never set our video quality high enough for good night vision of visiting animals.Installing these was easy and fast, and we now have video set at highest quality and have some really nice animal videos! Hopefully, we'll never have a prowler, but having better video resolution would at least give us some chance of an arrest.

Changing batteries in our cameras became a real pain, so this felt like a no-brainer move. They were fairly easy to install, although the wires from the batteries to the cameras were not very long. The quality seems good and we’ve had them several months now and the batteries are going strong. We’ve had lots of wind, sun, rain and freezing weather and they are doing well. We live in a harsh climate so these get a thumbs ip from us!

Instructions say take AA battery's out. But, after 3 days clouds, rain. Solar stop working..had to put battery back in. Google says leave battery's in. To fo back and forth when needed....so which is it.??

These work well if you charge them first, make sure you turn them on and replaced the micro usb to usb c adapters they give you.

I bought these to power my Blink cameras I got from Amazon too. I finally got them installed and used this as the power source (meaning the device have no batteries in it). Connector is still micro USB while the Blink cameras are USB C. They give you an adapter that wiggles. It’s connected sometimes, if you’re lucky. So I had to put a piece of duct tape to solidify the connection. So far so good. It’s in a very sunny part of the house (around 7-8 hours of daylight). It’ll get dark at 5:30pm and by 9-10pm the device is DEAD. It’ll restart again when the Sun is out. But that’s not why I bought these. It’s supposed to carry enough charge to power the camera all day all night. Buyer’s remorse I guess. “Caveat Emptor!!!â€

The chargers did not work on my cameras. I have the Blink outdoor 4th Generation and will not charge them at all. The panels are on and nothing.
