I love this tool for creating air vents in plastic tubs for my isopod collection. Heats up quick and gets the job done fast. Sometimes I do have to stop when the tip collects too much plastic to let it burn off. Would recommend wearing a mask and doing it outside if using with plastic

I use this to cut my mesh for wreaths. When I first used it it worked very well.On the 3 rd day it started off well but then shut off. Nothing showed on the panel. I unplugged and tried again. It was a constant plug/unplug to get through my project. I did not get much use out of this item. If it doesn't work tomorrow it will go back! Has anyone else had this happen?

I do a ton of SMD rework on multilayer boards using my MBT System. Full disclosure I've never used a soldering iron other than the cheap ones from the import tool store. The imported ones take forever (5 mins or more) to heat up and even then aren't usually hot enough for a good soldering job. I usually end up grinsing residue off the tips to make it function. This soldering iron heats up within 15 seconds. According to the gauge it ranges from just under 400 degress to 932 degrees. You will need a magnifying glass for the instructions, as well as some patience for the settings process. For example to change for C to F, you have to hold both the temp up and temp down buttons while plugging the iron in to change from C to F or F to C. In fairness this should only need to be done once. Other than the con for the miniature instruction sheet is the cardboard box that contained the soldering iron, a round mount to keep it from starting a fire or damaging a flammable surface, a pad that goes on the mount, a small package of solder and a zip lock baggy of 5 additional soldering tips. I would have given 5 stars if the manufacturer could have included an inexpensive case of some sort. So you need to either buy a case or fight with a cardboard box when you probably won't even remember what's inside of it. Until the cardboard decomposes anyway. It's a nice product with cheap instructions and almost non existent packaging.
