I purchased an SSR-25DD Solid State Relay for use in a solar energy project at my house.I am using solar panels to heat the water in our 50 gallon electric water heater tank by connecting the output of the solar panels directly to the heating element in the water heater. I needed a way to switch the high dc voltages and currents from the solar panels off and on if the water in the water heater tank gets too hot. The water heater thermostats are not designed for or rated to switch high dc currents and voltages on and off. The solution was to use an SSR-25DD SSR to switch the high dc currents and voltages on and off, and use the water heater thermostat to switch the low voltage input of the SSR-25DD on and off. That has proven to be a great solution and it has been working reliably now for several weeks. I was amazed at how inexpensive the SSR-25DD was, and it even comes with a large heat sink, screws to attach the heat sink to the SSR, and heat sink grease. I am very pleased with this product.

The cover is very nice to have. I see that this is thicker than the other DA types. With a 12 amp load (shop vac) the heat sink was not needed, but if w/o compound and the heat sink should hold up at 25 amps with higher temps easy. I bought many different brands and happy with this one. For the price and quality definitely great deal, thanks! The DD worked well also.

The screw terminals are too small to hold 2 ferrules. Even 1 is sketchy AF. The screws themselves are pretty terrible too, really shallow for Philips and likely to strip the head of you try putting any torque on them

This is the problem with many super inexpensive SSRs - the screw terminals are not very good. These relays do work, too bad they didn’t charge a few more dollars and put on better hardware.

I'm using it for a homemade pemf. it works good. I use it between 3 and 50hz. one thing to note is the load "contact" only works in one direction. I'm switching the negative so the powersource negative has to be on the negative of the contact.

I've went through three different SSR's and one mechanical relay before trying this one, and I wasn't hopeful, figuring that it would fail like all the rest. I am very happy that it didn't!! I'm switching up to 25a at 48Vdc and so far, it's working as advertised! I do have a 10a Silicon Rectifier Diode across the load side, cathode to the positive side. Also, the wiring diagram shown is wrong for the load side. It's backward from what the picture shows, positive side of the power supply on the right terminal, and load side on the left terminal.
