Somewhat disappointing results, the surround sound function as well as the individual speaker function did not work at all. The unit was generating sound to the satellite/surround speakers but the only way to hear them was to literally bring them physically to my ears. Based upon other reviews of this product, I can only assume that the item was defective. The manufacturer was contacted and there was agreement that it probably was after several troubleshooting steps. For the record, I own the HT A9 as well as the Bravia Theater Quad A9M2 systems, so I am familiar with the technology. The was also a strange inability to update the firmware using the Bravia Connect App.

Fantastic device. No lag, and now we can listen to the audio from our hdtv in a crystal clear manner from the speakers of this wonderful portable device.

I wanted to love this one, but it just wasn't worth the price for the quality of surround sound. Everything else was pretty good: like being able to turn it off and on via the app; easy bluetooth connection to multiple devices; decent bass for a bedroom; and sound quality overall pretty good. It just didn't seem to matter how often I changed the surround levels, I could barely hear sound coming out of the side speakers, or enough for it to really envelop my surroundings. I purchased it to get some damn sleep, but it just didn't make the cut. If it were priced lower, then I could see the value.

I really like the simple design of this speaker set, it looks nice on my TV stand with its plain mesh grey color. The removable side speakers are something else entirely, simple attachment to charge them, fairly fast charging, and super easy to move around your desired sound setting. It really gives the surround sound you expect from a theater making it a great choice in my opinion for movie nights. The Bluetooth connection of the system works super fast and simple, I just turn on my TV and it automatically connects to the speaker set and turns it on even after leaving it off or idle for a long time. To be fair I was pairing this Sony speaker set with a Sony TV, but in my opinion I can’t tell if they just work great together but the change in sound quality from the TV speakers to this system is astounding. In terms of battery charge life because it is a wireless sound system, I used it with the side speakers also and it didn’t need another recharge for about a week. I don’t know if I used the speaker a great deal compared to the average person but I would say for the quality of sound the battery life is excellent. I wish the app that came with the setup of the speaker had a readjustment button or something for when you move the speakers around to get the ideal surround sound, because it does it once and I moved the speaker set around so I have no idea if its just constantly adjusting or only does it once. Another thing I will say is that I wouldn’t state that its as portable as their trying to claim it is, its fairly beefy if you have the idea you can just put it in a bag to carry it around. Other than those two annoyances I have with this speaker set I would say that quality of this is amazing, making a home theater become more like a real theater as you can hear all the action or musical ambiance of any movie or playlist you’re listening to.

While this is expensive, it’s the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever used. I love it for entertaining because it’s so portable, and it really surprised me that just how well the surround works. It really does feel and sound amazing when you set the satellite speakers behind you. The battery life is good, and the app is surprisingly easy to use. It connects easily to my phone (I generally use it with my phone as I have a real sound system for my tv) and controlling from the app is nice.I still give it 5 stars even though it’s pricy just because it is so amazing. If you entertain a lot outdoors or in other parts of your house away from your main surround system, and you care about sound quality and immersion, I don’t think there is anything better. It also helps that it’s gorgeous and feels so premium and high quality.

I have a projector with a built in soundbar. It's been amazing until there was a recent software update and now the audio is very low and it's suddenly hard to hear spoken words in tv shows and movies. I saw this on offer during Black Friday and thought it seemed like a good fit for our needs.The packaging is very environmentally friendly and everything is easy to unpack. The set up was a breeze as this connects to bluetooth. I installed the app on my android phone and was able to access the options. I have to say I am disappointed with the amount of audio options. There is no equalizer and I find the audio quality very subpar. I also find the surround speakers to be extremely low and I don't see any benefit at all. It's just a mediocre mini soundbar. The sound is muddled with little highs and even though I have bass on max it's just not there for me. I have tried different streaming apps and watched TV shows and movies but it really does little to add any immersive surround sound. I'm disappointed as the design is great and I love the whole thing being completely wireless.I think that even with the $398 Black Friday price, that dollar amount could get a better and more powerful soundbar which is what I am going to get instead of this.
