I'm starting to collect metering and measurement tools so that I can more accurately do comparisons and to better be able to produce data rather than "feeling" information. At $20, this sound meter is a deal. Whenever someone says, "this is louder than that", I can now show exact measurements to prove or disprove their (or my) opinions. It works pretty good so far and is easy to manipulate. However, I don't have any other sound meter to compare it to at the moment. And I don't really rely on cellphone apps because let's face it, a cellphone's primary uses aren't to measure sound levels. Thus, it's not included, so you have to download an app.It comes with a windscreen which is quite helpful. Just ask anyone who tried to record using a microphone in a windy environment, and you will understand its value. I look forward to using it more often so I can make better measurements and comparisons. For example, I can listen to different fans and determine which one honestly creates more noise. I'm about to replace the pathetic horn in my truck and I'll be able to confirm rather the new one is louder, and by how much. Oh, and I like some of the features like min/max and hold so that you can better determine the sound level from a source with varying sound.For the price and convenient use, I definitely would recommend this. But I'll update this review if I ever compare it to a more accurate meter and find that this is drastically off. Or if something else warrants so.

This sound level meter has been a surprisingly useful tool! I needed a way to monitor noise levels for a project, and this meter fit the bill perfectly. While I don't have other meters to compare it to, it seems to be quite accurate and picks up on changes in sound very quickly.The readings are easy to see on the display, and the audible and visual alarms are a great feature. It's really helpful to have that immediate feedback when sound levels reach a certain threshold.For the price, this meter is a steal. It's a great option for anyone who needs to be mindful of sound levels, whether it's for work, home, or hobbies. It's definitely a handy tool to have around!

At $20, this sound meter is very basic and is sufficient for every day uses. Don't try to use this for professional measuring of sound level in a studio or lab. There is no adjustment capability nor any calibration done on it. It also has temperature measurement in C or F. The sound measurement has a minimum, maximum and hold setting. A single alarm level can be set that will change the display color red and play an alarm. Comes with 3 X AAA batteries.

If I need a detector, meter, or gauge for the lab, the field, or for work around the house, AICEVOOS has become a top choice because their detectors and meters are precise and accurate. The company makes a wide range of products and they have not let me down.This product takes good precise measurements. It does have a bit of a reaction time, but remember that sound travels much more slowly than does light or other EM waves. This is good for keeping track of loud tenets and their violations; judging which areas of a business or work site need mandatory hearing protection; measuring output of your stereo system; or any other work that needs precise and accurate reporting on the decibel levels of an environment or source.It is an effective tool at a very reasonable price and I recommend it.

A neighbor's air conditioner unit is producing a quite considerable sound, but this unit shows 30.As a rule of thumb you can think:30 dB: A soft whisper40 dB: A quiet office or residential area, or light rain50 dB: Moderate rainfall or a refrigeratorSo, crazy noise from that air conditioner unit is just a whisper. Noted.

The unit appears to be acutate but only displays once a second so if you are walking around a room looking for hot spots you have to go real slow. My other unit has a continous readout so you can see variations instantly. an analog looking display.

El disponer de un sistema para la medición de ruidos o sonidos en ambiente suele ser muy necesaria en casos de viviendas mal insonorizadas, locales de trabajo y similares situaciones. Pudiendo gracias al dispositivo tener un baremo de mediciones más precisas y donde podamos ver los niveles de mejora con cambios de insonorización o albañilerÃa en la vivienda o local.. El dispositivo es sencillo en funcionamiento y utilización, con una pantalla principal de MU FACIL lectura, un micrófono receptor de condensador en su parte superior y cubierto por una espuma anti-viento para una mejor medición y unos controles cómodos en su frontal.. El dispositivo funciona mediante pilas estándar en su parte trasera, además de tener un sistema de ahorro de energÃa al estar inactivo durante un tiempo. Con un consumo mÃnimo, podemos olvidarnos perfectamente de llevar repuestos de ellas encima.. El sonómetro nos indica una medición en tiempo real del sonido ambiente, con una precisión de un décimo de decibelio y un rango desde los 30 a los 130 decibelios. Una capacidad bastante aceptable si sabemos que un aspirador al máximo de potencia puede llegar a los 90 y un despegue de un avión hasta los 120 dependiendo de la distancia al mismo.. Con posibilidad de programar rangos de aviso y alertas, y que tengamos un aviso sonoro y mediante la pantalla en el momento de alcanzar esas mediciones.. En relación con su construcción, con un cuerpo principal de plástico resistente, tenemos la seguridad de aguantar el trote continuo o cualquier pequeño accidente de caÃda sobre superficies duras.MUY UTIL y PRACTICO sistema de medición para cualquier ambiente y estancia de nuestra casa. En mi caso, utilizando actualmente para realizar mediciones exactas al estar en proceso de insonorizar una habitación de la casa como pequeña sala de cine.
