When I first received this latch, I wasn't all that impressed, and I wondered if it would even work. I ended up installing it in a temporary fixture, and it actually worked brilliantly! Yes, it has two plastic parts, but they function quite well.Because this would be installed as a hidden latch for a "secret" closet behind a pair of 22" wide, 12" deep cabinets, I had to change out the plastic push-pin for a longer brass rod, with a cam mechanism and another brass rod to actually operate the latch. The "keeper", as it is called by the manufacturer can be adjusted up and down, left and right, and in or out, so you don't have to be super precise in its initial installation. In my case, once I had the keeper position adjusted properly, it only took a few pounds of force to close the secret door, and the latch secured with a satisfying audible "click". Releasing the latch is just as easy, requiring about 5 pounds of force on the pin, and I haven't found any tendency for the latch to release accidentally without rather a lot of force and manipulation. It works quite nicely for my secret closet door.As an aside, Southco, the manufacturer has some very good drawings and notes regarding this series of hidden latches (they actually have several different versions, but they all operate the same way).

No instructions, poorly made, and Incomplete. Will avoid both brand and distributor moving forward.

As others have noted, the product picture isn’t how it is set up. The white square piece is turned 180 degrees and the plastic pin pushes through the metal U area so the barbs keep it in place.

I'm going to be using this to create a hidden release to a secret compartment inside a piece of furniture I'm building. It's designed well, but it's worth mentioning that the photo they have of the product isn't the way the pieces need to be set up to work correctly. The plastic bar actually needs to push against the solid side of the white center piece. That compresses the spring on the other side, allowing the latch to release.

Do not like how it has the plastic push rod. Otherwise it's a good latch. Wish they would have sent me the rocks that they weighed to get that kind of shipping rate.

The only thing I can say I don't like about this latch system is the plastic action rod. Everything is well done other than that. Works well for my application though so four stars.

Far better than expected. They make an audible click when drawer closes and latches. I used them for a nightstand and could be happier. I’ll be ordering more.
