The Samick Sage and its descendants, many of which are made by Southwest, have a reputation as well-built bows, solid and comfortable to shoot. I find I much prefer shooting a longbow to a recurve so I jumped on this takedown longbow. The Ghost is a great design. The limbs fit very securely in their pockets. It strings up easily. In shooting the bow, it feels like it's one piece. It points naturally, it's quiet, and it makes me look like a much better archer than I am. I hope to pick up a lighter set of limbs for stump and casual shooting. They'll get a workout.

My bow arrived 3 days earlier than expected.Everything was clearly labeled for assembly. Fit snuggly , and shoots great.The riser is very comfortable, and I am excited to add more accessories or swap the limbs to recurve later on.The bow is also gorgeous , much better looking than the product images. The gold stripe in the center matches the outside edges of the limbs, with the rest of the bow being a nice matte black.The thumb screw limb bolts are also a great option if you need to take down the bow to store it frequently. The limbs feel very secure with them , without having to over tighten.Lastly the bow is considerably quieter than recurve of a similar design such as the samick sage.

Unfortunately I was sent the wrong handed riser. Overall finish of product appears to be nice. Fit, form, and function has not been tested yet. I will update when I get the correct handed riser.Update**I Received the correct riser. After putting it together and firing some arrows, the bow is remarkable. Very smooth draw, great quality limbs and riser. Very pleased with purchase. The Customer service is top tier.

I purchased this bow with 35lb. limbs and I'll say right away that it was money well spent. Great looks, smooth draw and smooth release. The only thing was the accompanying endless loop string (just not my kind of string) so I made a flemish twist string and this bow does its job just fine. I definitely recommend this bow for beginner/intermediate shooters.

Southwest archery has changed the ghost from what is advertised now. If you look at the photos you see that the previous slim bolts went through the frame and had a security bolt on the back side which differentiated it from the spyder riser now it's basically just a Spyder riser. It's actually somewhat thicker front to back and a bit chunkier than the spyder riser as well . I don't recommend this bow at all.. the finishing looks very good as far as the protective polyurethane but it is not sanded and smoothed like the previous generation it's very disappointing since the bow is now chunkier than the old spider XL. I think it's worth it just to buy some longbow limbs and put on your spider riser they are very quiet and smooth shooting but I could not be more disappointed with the ghost new version I would not waste my money

After reading the one review, I was a little worried about the bow breaking on me too. I have been using the bow every day for about a week now and so far, I am very impressed. Not only is it gorgeous, but everything fits together great and feels sturdy. I hope this bow lasts me many, many years. I’m considering getting smaller versions for my sons as they will soon be out growing their current bows.
