Cuts through up to 14 gauge solid wire easily. I use it for cutting wire and sometimes for steel bands on skids. Love the spring open design, the handle works great for when you need to squeeze harder. Fits right in my tool pouch.

Use these for network cable installs. They last around 3 years using them 6 days a week after installing 100,000+ ft of network cable. I will never use any other product. These things are amazing and make my job so much easier.

Well made, very strong. Not bad for doing heaving work. Not as sharp as others. My greenlee ones can strip an outdoor Cat5e Superior Essex cable easily, not even close on these. But as far as cutting the cable, stripping the coating off lines, and basic termination use, they're not bad. Better than most off brands actually. I've been through many brands, and bought these to throw in a go bag. If you're shopping around, the Greenlee one's are my fav at the moment. But if you're looking for a more affordable pair that will last a long time, Southwire is pretty good, and the feel in your hand is very comfy for long use.

Bought these to replace a pair I lost or left behind on a job site. Love these cable snips! They're made well, sharp and will last a long time. (unless you leave them behind like I did) Once you get use to them you'll not want to use any other brand. Extremely comfortable and equally sharp! Be careful with these they will cut you and you'll leak all over the customers floor. Did I mention these will cut you.I like the spring loaded lock mechanism and the design of the scissor blade. The back of the one blade has groves machined into it for stripping and gripping wire. That added gripping surface helps a lot to grab insulation or that zip string that fingers sometimes have problems with. Sure makes working with UTP and coax a lot easier.

I use these scissors backwards for more leverage and ease of use with spring. Put middle finger through the ring and curved handle in the palm of the hand. Quick spin of the scissors to behind the fingers so I can still hold them and use my fingers to untwist CAT-6. They are very sharp and be cautious with your fingers. The only negative it has is the locking mechanism, it's a softer metal than the scissors and can wear down over time. But never failed to lock for the 4 other pairs I have owned.

It was cool until it stopped spring loading. Without the spring, it's annoying top keep opening with one hand since there's no ring for your finger

Way more comfortable than any competing snips I have used I prefer these over my old Klein snips. If you are a lob volt electrician or a sparky these work great. Easily cuts through cat6A and cuts cat6 like it’s butter. The spring assist has saved me much time and is a very useable feature. The lock has proven reliable and easy to engage and disengage.

I'm a Pyrotech, and when I am setting-up/loading fireworks for a show, scissors like these are indispensable. Now add the spring-loaded feature, I love it! It does take a little getting used to, but I think this is just great. The only issue that I have is, I could do without the little slide lock, but I guess it is needed.I will say this though, a very dear friend of mine, who just recently passed, was in the tele-com industry for ages. Boy-oh-boy, if he saw this...he is probably rolling as I am writing this...

i used these for work for some time, they work well, but decided to go back to the old traditional scissors.

Good idea, but badly executed. They are not sharp enough and need to apply too much force to cut with. The tip is to thick to cut with. The lower part with the hole hurts the finger as is to slim and uncomfortable. The edge go blunt easy and (I guess the steel not good enough) I've bought 4 pairs and all of them looked different (no consistency in the quality) I got lots of Southwire tools (testers mostly) and I love them, but the mechanical tools I advise to be avoided. I bought those to replace my 3 years old CK scissors and was very disappointed to discover that the heavily abused old scissors cut better than my new SW ones. I don't like the 2 hole design on the CKs but will go back to them and return the SW. Shame for the good design waisted. Will keep searching to find similar that actually works.

My tech got a pair, I liked. I've since ordered 3 for multiple toolkits. Hands down the best heavy scissors I own. Cuts data cable like string, and almost comparable to Weiss the one time I used them to snip tin.*network/telco field technician, daily user*

Sharp, fit well in pocket, use regularly for branding and cleaning up electrical panel cables.

These were reasonably priced enough to persuade me to add a pair of Electrician's Scissors to my kit. Not super sharp, but sturdy, good quality. I like the latch to hold them closed.
