For people who have never used these types of bags, you are going to need a heat sealer (they're usually between $20-60 depending on the size) in order to close the top part of the bag.Once its sealed I've been using a house hold hairdryer on high heat and have only had 1 bag break on me. Everything else shrinks wonderfully. We're using these to shrink wrap cookie tins for the holidays and using both a combination of round and square tins with this. For the round ones you can mold the corners as you're shrinking so there's no weird sticking out parts. Since the tins are metal, I don't have any problems with over shrinking or damaging the items. The bags do have a bit of an odor coming out of the packaging but goes away kind of after shrinking, I'm running a test with some cookies to see if it actually affects the cookies themselves.Update: After about 2 weeks in the bag as a test they came out perfectly fine, no lingering smells of plastic or anything, it works!

I have purchased these several times to package cookies individually. If your cookies are smaller, you can be a little creative on how you fold the flap and still have a nice, tidy look while keeping your cookie fresh. (I once found a cookie I had sealed in one of these bags, two weeks after I had packaged it. I opened it and tried it, and the cookie was still soft and tasted the same as when it was made. I wouldn’t make a habit of holding onto cookies that long, but it was nice to know they do seal that well.)

I recently purchased these 7" X 10" shrink-wrap bags for a variety of uses for someone who likes to keep things organized and protected. They're incredibly versatile, perfect for packing almost anything that fits - soaps, books, or small hand tools. Their protection against moisture and water is impressive, though a sealing tape or lip would elevate them to near perfection.During a trial run, I decided to package some hand tools, and here's a tip from my experience: go easy on the heat. These bags are responsive and don't require much heat to shrink snugly around your items. A little too much heat and you might find yourself with a hole in the bag. But when used correctly, the results are nothing short of remarkable. For items that don't need as much shrinkage, I found that folding the bag opening once or twice before applying heat helped create a reasonably sealed package. In cases where that wasn't enough, a bit of tape helps, although it takes a bit more effort. It's a small workaround for ensuring your items stay dry and protected. These bags have proven their worth, particularly for outdoor adventures. If you're packing for a camping trip and worried about your gear getting wet, these bags are your solution. They've been a reliable ally in keeping my belongings dry and clean, no matter the weather conditions. The peace of mind knowing that your items are shielded from moisture without having to resort to bulkier, less convenient options is genuinely invaluable. These shrink-wrap bags have earned their place in my packing and storage routine. Their ease of use and the adequate protection they offer make them essential for anyone looking to safeguard their goods from moisture and dirt. Whether you're an avid camper, a crafts enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates the value of well-protected belongings, these bags are worth checking out.

I do balms and lotions and these are good to seal a 4oz jar. I use a heat gun on low, I used up a couple getting the method right - on low, not too close, and waving it back and forth over the object. This gives, IMO, a more professional look - nowadays people like to see that the product is protected from being tampered with.I kind'a wish they had perforations to make them easier to remove, I'll have to try running them through my sewing machine to make the perforations.

This is a set of 7x10" PVC heat shrink bags designed for heat shrinking around medium-sized objects. The workflow for them is simple: insert the object, heat seal with an impulse heat sealer, then use a low heat heat source (a hairdryer is probably more appropriate than a heat gun) to gently shrink the plastic around your item. The effect works best if the space inside the bag is relatively minimal before you start the shrinking process.I used a hairdryer and was relatively pleased with the results, and can recommend doing the same. Others have reported that it's possible to get these too hot with a true heat gun, and I could see that, so using a lower-heat source and shrinking these slowly is probably the best strategy.500 bags is a lot, and should keep you supplied for quite a large batch of whatever it is you're looking to seal!
