This is a superior garden spade. It is perfect for transplanting and strong enough to pry out large stones in our rocky PA soil. I have been gardening for over forty years and it is the best tool I have ever owned.

I love this spade. Perfect for working in a border. Seems to be very robust and opening a hole for bulb planting is easier with this than with a bulb planter. Goes in easier than a normal space because of the narrow width. Of all my vast spade collection this is the one I choose for planting and working in confined spaces. Wish I’d found this sooner.

Perfect size for transplanting. Cuts easily through roots--better than any specialized root-cutting spade. Strong for extreme leverage.

The tool is a miniature. Typically this tool is 4" longer and the blade 14" or more. The "socket" is split full length in the back, A forged blade does not need to be so heavy, if it is good steel. It may suit you (for a pry bar), but this one is going back! Not interested in answering further questions about it.

Ich habe lange nach einem Spaten mit schmalem, langem Blatt gesucht und dann endlich diesen entdeckt. Benutze ihn bereits seit 2 Jahren ohne jeden Mangel in lehmigem Gartenboden. Er ist besonders gut geeignet um Stauden umzupflanzen, zu Teilen, oder weitere Pflanzen in bereits bepflanzte Beete zu setzen. Das vergleichsweise lange Blatt ermöglicht es auch tiefe Wurzeln gut aus zu graben. Ich habe das Blatt leicht angeschärft, so durchtrennt er mühelos auch etwas dickere Wurzeln oder Wurzelballen. Sowohl das Blatt, als auch der Stiel sind äußerst stabil und haltbar. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Zum Umgraben ist dieser Spaten nicht optimal, das erkennt man aber bereits an den Abmessungen. Dies ist der 2. Spaten den ich nun zum verschenken gekauft habe.

Ho comprato la vanga per poter piantare alberi e arbusti in giardino .Essendo io donna ,avevo bisogno di un attrezzo professionale ma non eccessivamente grosso. Ho provato la vanga e devo dire che sia per la forma slanciata ,sia per il peso e sia per la lunghezza del manico, è un ottimo attrezzo da giardino .Consigliato .

I purchased this spade, for christmas tree planting ,I am moving over 100 trees to a new planting Location at a local farm and the Tree planting spade [ only one at the farm is not always available] .So I decided the best option was to buy my own , Spear & Jackson have always been a sign of good quality and this spade is well made , and does the job of making planting holes for the trees , with ease , I have re-planted over 20 trees using this spade , excellent.I have recently found a new use for this spade, there are a lot of dock plants and thistles , where I am working the dock plants in particular are a nuisance to dig up because the roots go very deep , the usual for or spade will not do the job but this spade works perfectly .at digging up the entire root system. Brilliant , One of the best Tools I have ever bought .
