Who We Are
We are named Kulkea (cool-kee-ah), the Finnish word meaning “to go and travel.” Our goal is to free the adventurous spirit within all of us.

Kulkea was born when two New Englanders saw a need to solve the shortcomings of traditional outdoor gear bags. Their pioneering prototype quickly became the go-to for avid skiers.

We originally tried other cheaper bags from Amazon with 5 star reviews including backpacks where the boots zipper is located at the back of the bag. Those are fiddly to use. We use this for resort skiing - moving gear from inside home to car to lodge and we prefer this style of bag - so much easier to load and unload gear. This Speed Pack bag is just intuitive to use with the right amount of pockets and zippers and fast to load and unload gear. Quality is top notch. One large central compartment where you can fully open all the way and not have to dig in with a flashlight to look for your smaller gear or black glove liners. Only problem in the New England region where we use this bag is that it is a local brand and being so popular, you will likely see someone else with the exact same bag and color at the lodge. Don't forget to label yours! Or buy the one with the color you think most will dislike. Will buy again if we need another bag. The search stops here.

Saw this product in a ski shop and loved it. Great price from this supplier and the bag has lots of roomy compartments so I can organize my boots, goggles, mittens and helmet. Love the color too. Great for travelling with the handy backpack straps.

This was our second purchase of the Kulkea Speed Pack Ski Boot Bag. We almost went with the junior versions for our daughter but opted to get her a full size and glad we did. These are comfortable to wear and carry quite a bit of gear. We took both bags as personal items for our daughters on Frontier and were able to get them under the seat. The trick of course is not to pack them to capacity as it would make getting it under the seat difficult.

Love the bag and it’s large enough for size men’s 14 boots. Only dissatisfaction was the strap that goes across your chest ripped off first time using. Cheap / thin materials. Overall great bag and makes it 100x easier to bring your gear to the mountain.

I found that the top handle is kind of flimsy and not a comfortable way to grab the bag. If they put an beefier handle would help. For the size and price was fair. I would recommend seems durable so far with 4 trips to the mountain. It does hold everything I had in a regular full size ski bag. And the color red is not red as the picture shows, it is burgandy.

This is my new favorite ski item. It fits my boots and helmet, plus there is extra room for ski pants and even my knee brace! It has a couple of smaller pockets on the outside so little items don't get lost. The straps are adjustable and the chest strap makes carrying it a breeze. I now keep it packed and ready which makes getting to the mountain a breeze. I wish I had bought this years ago. I will now buy one for my husband and kids.

I bought this ski bag last February. I used it five times, carrying my boots in and out of the ski lodge. I recently took it on a trip with me to Utah and checked my boot bag, along with my luggage. Sadly, the bag did not travel well. I went to claim my bags and my boot bag zipper had broken off. I can no longer use the bag. I may have used this bag a total of ten times.UPDATE- KULKEA stands by their warranty. I sent them pictures of the broken zipper and they are sending me a new bag. I will certainly shop with KULKEA again.Fast forward two weeks, I reached out to CoolMerch and to date, no response.
