I purchased this to replace the existing hardware that essentially corroded away to the point where they could’ve broken while carrying a load down the highway. Installation is very simple, just make sure to tighten it evenly, with the same amount of thread protruding from the 3/4” nuts. The plate required slight modification on the center hole to fit around the fastener that bolts the leaf springs together. That can be done with a larger diameter drill bit or a step drill. All in all, it’s a well made item

When I first installed the u bolts. The nyloc nuts were coming apart. I thought not a big deal I'll use some of the old nuts till i can buy some new nylocs to put on. I did that yesterday. The torque spec for 1/2" u bolts is 50 to 70 ftlbs. I set my torque wrench to 55ftlbs. Somewhere just north of 45-50 lbs the nut turned real easy. I wasn't sure what failed until l backed the nut off and the threads were sheared off the u bolt. I picked up my phone and ordered some stainless steel u bolts like I should have done in the 1st place. They'll be here today. If there's an issue I'll write about it. If there solid I'll write a write about. The fit was as described but...

I needed to replace a broken u-bolt on 2x2 trailer axle. Worked fine. The washers & nuts looks like typical low quality overseas hardware. What bugs me is the description says 1/2-28 size. They are M12 metric. It tics me that over seas passes the metric stuff as imperial. I don't mind using metric, just tell me the truth. Anyway, the trailer is fixed well enough until I rebuild it this summer.
