I got these because I could not get the SSG gloves I have worn in winter for years, any more. Not to say those were so great, but I would get them in a med instead of a sm and pair them with silk glove liners and that would work for me here in the PNW. These gloves on the other hand are probably overkill for my area (except randomly occasional freak weather) but good to know I have something I can use when it's below freezing. And that's about as cold as it gets here. Today I trialed them out in 30 degrees. I had to change to a less intense glove after the first 40 minutes or so as my hands got too hot. But, I love that I did not need the glove liners or "hot hands" either. They do make barn chores a little more work (kind of like wearing bandages on your hands) but I got the stuff done that I needed to get done. I would say they are a good buy. If I was still living in Minnesota or Wyoming, these would be a no-brainer to get for winter barn work.

Let me start be saying the seller and these gloves are amazing. I'd call these gloves top of the line or near it with the 10 below rating. I had a pair of these I got 10 or 12 years ago until my dog ate one of the gloves. I immediately searched ssg to buy another pair as close to identical as I could get. My hands never ever got cold wearing those at football games, track meets, dog walks or whatever in middle Illinois. I'm rating these 4 of not a 3, they're still the best gloves you can buy, but with the material change these aren't as good. They aren't as wind and moisture proof as the old ones and the way they go on doesn't feel top of the line anymore. For the price I expect better.

These gloves are bulky, however I do have some dexterity in my hands which is more than I can say for most that claim they do. With that being said, the are NOT warm for any temp below 40 degrees! I bought these with high hopes due to the claims of -10 below. Yeah that's a big nope from me! I wore them at 42 degrees and my fingers felt like I had nothing on. I actually said to my friend who was helping me with barn chores that morning "what they hell did they do put a chiller in them?!" I could not believe how cold my fingers where. I even tried them with a liner! I ended up wearing my triple layer of kids gloves which are warmer then these. So I can't recommend these based on my 1x experience and now I'm stuck with another pair of expensive gloves I'll never wear. Do your research people, they may work for you but try them on and stand in the cold before you use them. Or you too will be stuck with another pair of expensive gloves!

Not sure how long they last - left them sitting on the ground and found the dogs playing tug of war with one. Tossed the orphan one.
