I was very impressed with the quality of this instrument. As a novice at mandolin, I wanted to get an entry level price item, try it out, and then maybe upgrade if I got good enough at it, however, I have played this with groups and get many compliments on it, I feel there is no need to replace it. The tone is good and sustained, the feel of the instrument is sturdy.

I have now tried FOUR times to get a functioning Left-Handed mandolin. The first one had a cracked bridge and was missing parts of the pick guard. The next three were all RIGHT handed. I specifically ordered the LEFT handed one each time and each time I was sent a RIGHT handed one. Each time in my return I explained the problem and it was never fixed. I tried contacting the seller directly with no response. The instrument it'self seems pretty cheap (probably why the first one was broken). I imagine it would be ok for someone first starting out but could see myself getting frustrated with the poor quality quite quickly. At the very least, save yourself the trouble and don't buy it from here.

For a beginner this Mandolin is Great! Adjustable Height, holds Tone very well and has a Rich, Vibrant well rounded Sound. No "Tinniness". The Craftsmanship and "Feel" is Way Above Average. A Left-Handed Stagg Bluegrass Mandolin, the Price under $120 (tax incl.) and free shipping. Without exception, the best deal in town! :{

If you just want a mandolin for playing around a bit this is an okay instrument but it not for a serious mandolin player..

I'm a novice mando player, so I can only say that the instrument was ready to play out of the box. Looks good. My only complaint is that the bridge covering fell off immediately and can't be re-affixed.

My son is a true musician. He has learned to play several instruments. He had never tried the Mandolin, for the simple reason that he is left handed. Over the years we have had a hard time finding good left-handed instruments that don't cost a fortune. Since he had never played a Mandolin I didn't want to spend a lot on one. I found this on Amazon and read the reviews. I had never heard of the brand Stagg, but other customers said it was a good brand. When he opened it for Christmas he was so excited. He had been wanting one and hadn't said anything because he knew how hard it was going to be to find. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It looks as good as some of his very expensive guitars. He's learning to play it and having a blast. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

This product was inexpensive and I should have known when I took it out of the box and the silver tail piece had already fallen off. Cheap looking and sounding. I don't fault the seller, but I advise that you spend a little more and get a better product

The lower price had me a little worried about quality, but the mandolin is resonant and feels like a proper instrument. I also like the sunburst design of the top. This one's a winner!

Pour un débutant qui a du beat, c'est parfait pour moi. Les cordes sont peut etre un peu ''cheap'' mais honnêtement avec le shipping je m'attendais même pas en avoir.Dès que je l'ai reçue j'ai simplement eux à l'accorder et le tour était joué.

The mandolin came and when we opened it the metal tailpiece cover wasn't attached nor was the plastic piece below the strings. Not very happy that this item came with pieces not even attached!!..shows poor workmanship.Now we will have to try to attach these pieces

Great start up mandolin. Unfortunately the tailpiece pops off every now and then. The piece (on mine) is not bent properly. Nothing to lose sleep.over. Aside from that, a very nice starter mandolin to get your feet wet with.
