Stainless Steel Thermowell 1/2"NPT Threads for Temperature Sensors
Description:
Thermowells for temperature instruments are recommended for all process systems where pressure, velocity or viscous, abrasive and corrosive materials are present individually or in combination. A properly selected thermowell will protect the temperature instrument from possible damage resulting from these process variables. Furthermore, a thermowell permits removal of the temperature instrument for replacements, repair or testing without effecting the process media or the system.

I kept this thermowel but ended up replacing it. I was getting inconsistent reading from the probe because it would sit in there loose and did not make solid contact. I am using this for home brewing applications so the probe is from an Inkbird, and I’m not using any sort of probe putty.

The threading is such that it allows to be mounted in different configurations. It has worked well for me.

The heat affected zone of the weld between the threaded portion of this thermowell and the tube rusted 1 week after intermittent contact with just water. This occurred on 2 of 2 thermowells I ordered and installed. Aside from the rust (which renders these thermowells unusable for my application) they performed sufficiently.Note to seller: My return window is closed but I would greatly appreciate a refund for these defective thermowells.
