Please Note: Without the elastic rubber gaskets, the rotatable scriber (two side ends) can still stay locked down, but it may not hold the shape if accidentally bumped. Adding the elastic rubber gaskets between the template and ruler helps the rotatable scriber stay locked down as securely as possible.

I had a project to replace the stair treads in an older house where the walls and stairway were not square. This template tool saved me and the homeowner a lot of time and made the project twice as easy. The product suited the purpose I bought it for. I saved a lot of time and frustration by having quic measurements. The quality was decent enough formthe price. The clamps need to be (very) firmly tightened for accuracy.

I bought this tool to install steps at my job and it was a great decision. It's sturdy, easy to adjust, and helped me accurately measure each step, saving me a lot of time and effort. The material is good quality and feels durable. If you work with stairs or shelves, it's definitely worth having.

Well made product however it should have been thought through before manufacturing it. The sides that you mark the ends of the tread for cutting should have been at least 12 inches long because most treads are close to that width. Also the ends should have been attached to the ends of the Guage instead of the middle. I probably wouldn't purchase it again.
