These are essential if you want to take full advantage of your Monkey Mat. I did not purchase these right after I purchased the mat because I thought the weighted corners would be enough, but unfortunately, they are not. I have used them at the beach and in the grass and they work perfectly. They even fit inside the Monkey Mat bag.

I bought a Monkey Mat for my boys after seeing another mom use one and loved having it's utility in my diaper bag. But outside even with a little wind, the weights sewn in wouldn't hold the corners down so I was constantly adjusting or placing things on the corners. The crawler would also grab the mat and start to bunch it up. I set out originally to find some small tent pegs to carry and then discovered that Monkey Mat had already addressed this issue! Geniuses! So far they work great, and they are short enough to fit inside the Monkey Mat pouch that holds the mat. But, I'm only giving them four stars as the pegs are bulky, and the corners and point, although not sharp, are square cut. Because the mat pouch is already pretty stuffed holding the mat and now I'm also putting these pegs in, I am worried that over time the square corners of the pegs will start to wear the mat pouch and make a hole. It is a snug fit to get it all in (or my Monkey Mat pouch packing ways are not strong with The Force). The pegs work well enough that I feel they could be a bit smaller and still work but fit inside the bag better.

These plastic stakes are extremely difficult to get ahold of when they've been pushed into the ground. There are no easy spots to grab hold of them. The plastic felt a bit flimsy when stepping on them to push them in and the ties snapped off the first time we used them. The dark color was hard to spot after the ties broke off, too.

I have used my monkey mat for years for picnics, watching kids practices, and the beach. At the beach it can be difficult to keep the edges from blowing up or the whole thing from blowing away. These are perfect. They don't seem strong enough for hard ground but press easily into the same. They just barely fit in the mat's pouch with it.

I recently used these for the very first time and was disappointed by the quality of the plastic used to manufacture them. While they served their purpose, (to stake down the Monkey Mat), one of the stakes is nearly split in half, even though I staked it carefully into soft dirt/grass. I'll only be using the stakes now to hold it into sand, I guess, which is unfortunate because the mat is marketed to be used (with stakes!) nearly everywhere.

I liked these because they were the same brand as the Monkey Mat and purchased as a add on item. The first time I used them one broke and one bent. I think small metal stakes are a better solution.

Perfect for the beach. Pleasantly surprised how secure they are in the sand. Pointy enough to get the job done without being dangerous (if a little person were to find one).

Worked awesome with the monkey mat at the beach on lake MI yesterday. Winds were pretty strong and the mat definitely needed the stakes. Stayed put and easily brushed the sand away folded up and left.
