Replaced my old shield with this cool invention and it added the smoke just like I hoped.

Nice no issues other than i want the chamber larger for wood. I crank my smoker up to 350° to catch the wood then turn it down to 190° for a smokier taste. I layer fine chips on the pot side and a few chunks furthest away from pot that way it catches the fine stuff and burns into the chunks.

It work the way it way intended. Highly recommended!!! Can't wait to my next cook!!Update: i took the deflector plate out to clean the smoke after a 15 hrs cooked and realized that deflector plate has warped. But there is two solutions to the problem. One weld two bracket on top of the deflector plate like the original. Two make one slit on each side of the the original so the basket slide on. It's a great invention but it would be better if modified.

Got this to help with hotspots in my pit boss 1150 pro series. If you put in as supplied, it sits too tall and holds the drip pan almost level. I bent the sides in slightly to lower it some. It still hold the drip pan up but there is enough angle for the grease to run off. I will probably cut it down some. I don’t think the smoke box will work with the modifications I need to make.

The heat diffuser on my camp chef had really started to warp so I got this to help out with that.I really like the added space for you to add your own natural wood chips. With the pellets you never really know what is in the pellet. (There have been lawsuits on this). I like to add my own hardwoods for added smoke flavor. That seems to work OK.The biggest problem I see with this diffuser is that it warps almost instantly. That's a sign that it was made from cold rolled steel instead of hot rolled steel. So, the reason for replacing my old diffuser occurs almost instantly in the new one. Sigh. The diffuser does appear to work OK, and I'm keeping it because of the added feature of having your own chips. But, if you are wanting to replace your old diffuser due to warping, don't bother.

This is well made enough for my purposes. It seems like it should last a while. The price is okay, not great.

Purchased as a replacement for the heat shield on my 12 year old Traeger. This replacement seems to be thicker gauge metal then the last replacement. Any metal will warp with heat cycling. I have used this shield for weeks now and it seems to distribute the heat better and still looks like new (other than heat discoloring). The part fits perfectly.Very happy with this replacement and the price was best of all.Highly recommend.
