Upon initial installation this diffuser didn’t fit under my Pit Boss’ heat shield. After some trimming with my angle grinder, it fits! On the plus side, it is made from some pretty sturdy material though.

While a bit pricey for a piece of heavy gauge sheet metal, this is significantly better than the flimsy, easily warped heat shield that is standard on many modern smokers.Pictures show this shield in place, surrounded by the fire bricks I’ve added to my Traeger to help regulate and maintain temp. One pic shows the original that is badly heat rusted and warped. This stainless beauty is a wonderful replacement!!

You’ll need to remove the useless defuser pot under the drip tray and a little persuasion to bend the legs inward to fit properly for clearance.

Works as intended. Heavy duty steel.Was too large for my smoker. Had to cut off 4 inches. Used a 4.5 inch circ saw with a reinforced fibre blade.Installed a threaded rod to be able to slide it out of the way.
