Installation:
- Fill the burner pan completely with vermiculite.
- Avoid spilling on the pilot assembly.
- Do not place vermiculite on other parts of the burner or heat shield.
- Slope the vermiculite at the same angle as the burner pan to aid in even flame distribution.

One bag filled the burner pan perfectly. It did not look like it was going to be enough to fill the pan under the burners in my fireplace. After removing everything I open the double sealed bags dumped it in and spread around. It covers the burners completely. The gas vents better as the flames spread out more now and makes the flames look a lot better. Even the glowing effect looks nice. Great product and faster shipping on Amazon then buying from hardware store that seems to never have in stock.

This stuff is better looking than the vermiculite bag that came in my $800 gas log kit. I needed more and there was plenty in this bag. It helped to spread the propane flame more evenly, for more natural looking flames.

This stuff sooted up my whole fireplace. I tried 3 different times vacuuming it all out and wiped all the soot off and each time it did the same thing. I put my fireplace on without anything in it and it did not soot up.

Works as designed. One caveat; 12oz bag of vermiculite is a LIFETIME supply of this product. Too bad it isn’t available in smaller quantities! This bag would work nicely for a fireplace contractor/wholesaler.
