If gas is leaking out the vacuum tube on your Damper then there’s your problem. With car running, pull off vacuum tube on Damper and wait a couple minutes. If gas starts leaking out then the diagram is damaged inside the unit. My car ran perfect but had a hard time starting a lot of times. After putting this damper on it starts like brand new. Easy fix and took 15 min to replace. Hope this helps.

My 01 Pathfinder with the 3.5 engine had an issue when starting. I’d have to crank it for a long time to get it to start. And when it did it smelled strong of gasoline. Replaced this part and it completely fixed the issue! This part was also made in Japan!

I went through three of these units and each of them was defective. The vacuum port would leak fuel causing a rough idle. If you suspect this is the problem for you, pull the vacuum hose off and smell it. If its smells like fuel, you have the same problem. The only silver lining was that it wasn't disastrous when it failed and was relatively simple to access...I'm pretty good at it now!Not happy with this company. Normally they make really high quality components, but that was definitely not the case this time.

My 2002 Pathfinder was hard to start and would crank for several seconds before starting(otherwise, ran great). After install, it starts quickly every time. To test to see if this part is needed, with vehicle running, remove vacuum hose from current damper. If drops of gas start to come out(may take 1-2 minutes) the unit needs to be changed.

I bought this part to correct a problem with low fuel pressure in my 2001 Infinity QX4.The part matched exactly with the old one and installed quickly. No instructions were included in the box but you shouldn't be doing this unless you havea shop manual or are familiar with the fuel system.Part worked fine.

Ordered for a 2005 Chrysler PT cruiser. The website said it would fit, but it didn’t. I am going to return it.
