Easy to access after pulling one coil pack. Worked fine but after discovering how the first unit failed, I replaced the entire unit. The shaft bearings had excessive wear and contacted the underside of the unit. No worries, I have a spare unit now.

Folks, this camshaft sensor is not even close to fitting my 1995 Explorer. The Amazon parts finder software says it does. I hope they will change the software after reading this to make sure this does not happen to someone else. In the pictures you can see the differences. What annoys me the most is the total PITA to get to this thing at the back of the 4L V-6 engine and now I have to wait for the correct part to come while I have no use of the Explorer. My Explorer was manufactured in Jan of 1995 so I know it was the correct year. The harness from the existing sensor has clips on both sides and the Amazon one has a barb on one side only. FYI the old one is a BOSCH unit with these markings: 0273 008 002. Mileage is 83,000 original and the issue I am trying to correct is the 214 code that has the CEL on. Already replaced the crankshaft sensor but that did not correct the issue.

A little aggravated just got this a few minutes ago I open box and it looks like it could have been used. Sad part is I've been trying to figure out my starting issue and this might be the issue.

Doesn’t fit the 95 4.0 . You have to replace the whole cam synchronizer.

The Amazon part finder application said it would fit my 2000 Ford Explorer with 5.0L engine. The cam sensor in my vehicle is a 2 pin connector. The one I received is a 3 pin connection. Have to return it.
