If the shifter gets loose and sloppy on your 97-03 ford f150/explorer this is the most likely culprit. The are fairly easy to replace and do a wonderful job of tightening back up that loose shifter lever. Make sure you use plenty of axle grease or bearing lube to grease it up before you reassemble it. To replace simply drop the whole steering wheel assembly as far as you can without removing it and you will see the 2 half moon clamps that hold these on. You need 2 of these, and I recommend getting the half moon like clamps that hold them down also. The original half-clamp hold-downs are brittle and break easily , most aftermarket ones are more solid and re-enforced to prevent them snapping.

Should have had more info on this product it was not what I ordered it was not the right size and the cost for heavy duty to send it back so I'll put it on the Shelf
