There is a lot to like about this string winder. It is fairly lightweight and compact. It is cordless and rechargeable, via a USB-C port. The Amazon description states that it has a 1500mAh capacity battery, that supposedly provides 60 minutes of continuous use. The winder body can be easily changed from straight to pistol-grip style. There is a push button that is depressed to allow rotation of the winder from straight to pistol-grip. Once the winder is rotated, it locks into position.The winder has a ¼-inch hex drive with an internal magnet to hold bits in place. The primary bit included is for guitar and bass pegheads to wind strings. As typical of these bits, it has two slots at 90 degrees to each other to accommodate a variety of acoustic, electric, and bass pegheads. And, as typical with these bits, it does a decent (but not great) job of fitting these pegheads. I kind of wish that there were bits specific to a certain type of peghead, such as Fender-style bass, acoustic guitar, etc.There is an LED light on the end of the winder but, unfortunately, it only illuminates when the winder is powered on. There is no way of turning the light on independently.The winder also includes a variety of other bits that might come in handy when working on instruments. With a nice holder made from a rubber-like material, these are:• ¼ hex socket• Torx: T10, T15, T20• Phillips: P1, P2, P3• Slotted: 4mm, 5mm, 6mmMy main complaint with this winder is that it only operates at a single speed, 200 rpm. I think it would be more useful if was variable speed. This would probably add to the cost, which I believe is reasonable, but for me it would add to the usefulness of this tool. Another pet peeve of mine is that this winder, like some other cordless tools I have reviewed, does not show remaining battery life. I think this should be mandatory for cordless tools. Minus one star for these two shortcomings.Overall, though, this is a useful tool that find a home in my guitar/bass tool kit.

I like the build quality the functionality and the ease of use and I also like the value for the money and the battery life is great to by the way and the accuracy is very good to by the way.

DO NOT, EVER, change a string ever again... Without something like this. Swapping an entire set of strings is beyond EFFORTLESS. Please, do not even look at another guitar without investing in something like this!! YOU WILL change strings, literally hundreds of times throughout your Guitar-playing career. Works on both bass and guitar strings. A single switch to go in either direction. Charges fairly quickly.

This works well for its purpose. Power and battery life seem more than adequate. Since this has a removable bit for tuning, this can double as an electric screwdriver, and the rotatable handle adds to the versatility.Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it doesn't need them. It gets the job done. Being rechargeable makes this a welcome upgrade for me - no more worries about whether the batteries are still good or problems with leaky AAs!

This little winder arrived on time. It looks well constructed and came with some other screwdriver bits which make it more versatile. It seems to run at a higher speed than the Ernie Ball winder it replaces (my experience with several of those is they are less durable and need replacing often) and promises to last much longer.
