Mine arrived damaged, the packaging was in perfect condition but after unboxing there was nicks you could feel with your finger nail in the metal on the measuring surface. I'm assuming Q.A. At Starrett missed this which is very disappointing considering the cost of this product.Also for everyone's information both ends of this standard are rounded and only measure 1.000" at the very center of the standard, if the measuring rod is not perfectly centered with the micrometer you will get a reading up to -.005. I'm used to seeing the standards where both ends are flat. I would not recommend this product.
