Works nicely for connecting a weather station's RS-232, through to a network. All PoE, all reliable. Very rudimentary GUI, but I don't think a pretty UI could help make it work any better.

I'm very disappointed in this product. StarTech is still selling this product but has discontinued support for it. This device doesn't care what operating system you're using and uses standard data transmission, but StarTech hasn't added support for this device to it's newer applications despite having support for nearly identical devices that don't have POE. I was able to find an application that works in Windows 10 and has support for this device and many other devices that use the same data standard. So now, on top of paying for this device, I'm also paying for an application to use this device. My application requires the use of POE, so this was really the only option. Again, this device doesn't care what operating system you're using, but StarTech doesn't support this device on Windows 10.Beyond that, this device, with a 3rd party app, works exactly as expected. I'm using it to connect my TransLux FairPlay MP-70 scoreboard controller to NewTek's LiveText for a live score graphics.

Not compatible with Windows 7 or any 64 bit operating system. It could be and should be, but they make custom com port drivers and decided not to make compatible drivers.

Just a heads up, this is a legacy product that does not work with Windows 8 or 10. The newer model NETRS2321P (very similar p/n) officially supports up to Windows 10.

Instructions are lacking details and do not match the included software cd. A particular software install requires a password which 'support' is not able to provide.A serious bug in the firmware will not allow the rs232 settings to be configured using 2 Stop Bits with Even or Odd parity. A common setting required by industrial machines is Even Parity, 7 Data bits and 2 Stop bits, which this device cannot be set to.Hopefully a firmware update could fix the issue, but considering the latest firmware is dated 2006, such an update seems unlikely.

Bon produit qui fait juste ce qu'on lui demande.Utilisé pour commander via RJ45 des DSP (4x DCX2496) mais il semble que les DSP ont un problème de chainage...Sinon, la passerelle fonctionne correctement.Livraison satisfaisante, commerçant sérieux.

Fimware is out of date and cannot be upgraded (one unit I received was 2007, other one 2010). The web interface sometimes fails to save settings so you have to repeat multiple times. We are finding after about 1 year of service that 2 of these units randomly stop connecting out in TCP client mode. There is no log or debug facility so impossible to understand why. Power cycling them usually helps for a short period. It works if you are able to reboot it occasionally but otherwise I would recommend a more commercial solution.

no idea on how to make it working, online helps is really poor, so i am not able actually to use it.... Waiting from online startech support response.
